I think I've deleted the email now, but I got a really interesting phishing email a couple of months ago.
It was your garden variety stupid spam sent by a moron, but if you scrolled down, someone had apparently accidentally added the phishing email to another email chain. That email chain was some moron in India asking his idiot boss for some vacation days. It looked like it was actually a legit email with their own email addresses. Is there any way that would have been another type of scam, or were these people truly that stupid and incompetent? I pondered messing with them via their email addresses, but I figured that I'd probably slip up somehow and then I'd have 500 emaciated Indian coulees being told to harrass me. So I held off. |

I'd wager that anyone being investigated by Ohio Department of Family Services probably doesn't have enough to be able to be blackmailed anyway, so the information is largely useless
But whoever sent that email needs to be fired |

This happens to me quite often. There's a dumbass in Texas that has an email address very similar to mine. I've received crazy stuff from invoices to appointment reminders to bank inquiries. I've contacted some of the emailers and they were glad to know it's the wrong address. I'm assuming the guy is old and senile because he's not quite capable of giving his correct email address.

One time I started getting essays from random people. 3-5 pages each analyzing famous works of fiction. Turned out some high school teacher made a typo on his syllabus and said all papers must be submitted to my email, but it wasn't his email it was mine.
The first like 5, I wrote back the students and told them wrong email address. But then I had like 40 more. I started to give out grades at that point. Gave one kid an F that wrote on Hemingway cause Hemingway was really meant for preteens he wasn't real literary. Another kid I said this is good but Ray Bradberry isnt good enough to give you an A so you get a B. It started to get out of hand. After another 20 essays I started just telling these students that only Faulkner essays will get A's so stop being juveniles and do some real reading. Eventually the teacher emailed me and he was upset cause of my actions. I didn't apologize. Bet you home boy double checks his syllabi now though LOLOLOLOL |

I would think most of that is scripted these days, but that's pretty funny. One I've noticed lately from my ancient hotmail account is the subject will be "Your password is (stolen password from 20 years ago)" ...and it'll go on for paragraphs about hacking my device and camera and stealing your data. And it's always quite specific --- they've stolen videos of me masturbating in front of the camera. So, they demand however many bitcoin in exchange for deleting these videos and never hearing from them again. One of them even called me a pervert.... the ****ing audacity, calling ME the pervert in this situation. My main question though is..... out of all the things you could claim you stole from someone, THAT'S what gets responses? You wouldn't simply say you have a password and credit card info, which the vast majority of people would be scared of, or checking information... or even better, say you've installed a key logger and now you know all of their passwords and what they post online. But no... it's "videos of me masturbating" because you think a lot of people out there whip it out in view of their laptop camera? |

If you have been jacking off infront of your ipad and you worry it might be real, are you going to ask your son about it? I have had similar by the way, an email where the subject is an old password I only use when I am forced to sign up for a free account to something. |

I messaged back and told them they had the wrong guy. About a week later I was CC'd into an email chain about an incident at a social club and if the CCTV showed anything |
