Jesus - Veach must have the goods on Tranquill. We're talking "send you to federal prison for life"-level blackmail material.

If anyone wanted to see a guy who took less than his market value to be on the Chiefs, this is your Exhibit A.

Sign Jones and our defense won’t be significantly worse than last year.

Maybe not top 2-3 but easily top 5-10.

This is wonderful. He is a real good linebacker and a great teammate. I guess its bye to Willie Gay.

I know he did the one year deal to chase the ring for wasn’t it like $6 million? I’m pleasantly surprised we got him at this price. Also probably indicates as a family they enjoyed being here.

What am I missing here?

There has to be some typo in that report, right?

That’s a “I only care about my football legacy and superbowl rings” type of deal.

TBH I thought we'd see more of this by now. But I also get a young person securing their future.

Weird situation. He couldn't find much of a market last year, so took just under $3M for a 1 year deal with the Chiefs. Maybe the prospect of that happening again made this deal too much to pass up. It is, after all, still life-changing money that can set him and his family up to live comfortably and retire on. And it's on a team where he has a role and fits perfectly.
