*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Drafted in 2000 (Grbac), injured his knee during his rookie season and never appeared another NFL game.

Besides QB we have a long history of not developing WRs. Bowe was the closest thing to a very good WR that we've had and of course he got paid and turned lazy as hell.

Horn was good but of course we let him walk.

Eh, I don't agree with that statement. The Chiefs had excellent receivers in the 80's (Marshall, Paige and Carson) and have acquired a guy or two over the years that have contributed, like Kennison, Alexander, etc.

The biggest issue with "developing" a WR is actually drafting talented receivers early, something the Chiefs have essentially been unwilling to do outside of Morris and Bowe.

I think Cutler is Mahomes' floor. I expect Mahomes to have a very Cutler like 1st year starting.

I like to go back and watch Mahomes vs "whatever football team" whenever i can. I often watch Mahomes games when im laying in bed ready to pass out. I've probably watched every game available on Youtube multiple times now.

There's a ton to like about him. But if we're being fair, there are some valid concerns regarding his game.

His accuracy can be sporadic. In the same game he'll throw high. Then he'll throw one in the dirt. Sometimes he hits the long ball perfect. Sometimes it's an overthrow. He doesn't have that Trent Green like ball placement. He holds onto the ball for quite awhile.

Many of his snaps show him holding the ball much longer than he'll be able to in the NFL.

He has the tendency to roll out of a clean pocket. He seems to favor open, clean throwing lanes and will try to position himself into one before making a throw, instead of sticking in the pocket and making the throw amidst congestion.
Excellent info!

I have seen the Cutler tag placed on him several times- and most of the time it was used as a negative on 2 PM. When I think of Cutler- the thoughts of him not being liked by his teammates comes to mind. 2PM looks like a true leader- even Andy said everybody loved him during interviews. Cutler always came off as arrogant and threw his teammates under the bus after a loss while deflecting any blame for his own mistakes. 2PM looks far more mobile as well while avoiding pressure.

Cutler was not the worst QB to ever play, a lot of his flaws were in his attitude- I just hope 2 PM is a Lot better in every way.

Let the Ints fly to eternity. All that tells me is that the kid wants to make plays and though he will definitely have to learn when to stop and when to go, I can assure you he'll read the goddamned field and leave the scurred bitch QB antics where they belong:

Aaron Rogers has stated more than once he throws a lot of picks at practice so he learns his limits. He likes to test his ability.

We talk'in bout practice. Not a game. Practice.
