In which case we could adjust models accordingly
That would be true in a vacuum, but we already have two months of data that is being fed into the models, and so far IHME at least has performed pretty well. If anything, deaths are coming in above the forecasts these days, which doesn't suggest that there's evidence that the models are too alarmist.

We're at over 70k deaths right now.

Do you really think it wouldn't be exponentially more had we done nothing?

Kind of like the "people getting reinfected" stuff, I kind of feel like the super early detections are in the realm of outliers for the time being. Maybe the tests were just faulty? Maybe there's some other related strain that's being picked up that wasn't spreading as quickly? I really have no idea, but it doesn't make enough sense for me to think we should be changing anything for now.

I posted a thread in here last night that pretty much ruled that out. So good news on that

One of my tool guy's 96 year old dad died 2 weeks ago in a nursing home.

Got pneumonia all of a sudden then started throwing blood clots 2 days later and died.

They wouldn't test him for covid...

Never mind on this, they chose a starting date of 2-1 and search for these symptoms shown below. How dumb

Symptom-based query using key words: “fever” and “cough” or “shortness of breath” or “difficulty breathing”

I could understand 3 months ago but not testing 2 weeks ago seems odd. I understand because of his age it might not change treatment, but it would be nice to know.
