Sure. Because he's just a better player.

Look at the flipside of this argument - the offense played against dogshit in practice and was historically great.

If playing against a bad defense doesn't make the offense worse, how's playing against a good offense make a defense better? It stands to reason that it would have to cut both ways, no?

It's like the 'clutch player' argument. People always show those 'most clutch hitters' graphics and they're filled with some of the best players ever. And they say "see, clutch exists!" when the list demonstrates the exact opposite. Greatness exists, yes. And in key situations that greatness comes through because these are great players. Of course great players play well when it matters - they play well when it doesn't as well. They're just great players.

If this defense is greatly improved it will be because they added significant talent. Ultimately who they practice against will be irrelevant.

Okay...let me ask a better question. How the hell did Mike Mayock decide to draft Jonathan Abram after interviewing that guy and hearing him talk like a complete reerun?

It’s amazing that dumb teams like this let guys like Thornhill fall to us. The rich definitely got richer.

You would think their dumbasses would get ballhawks to try to compete against Mahomes every year but nope! Gotta get those run stuffing, hard hitting reeruns with no ball skills
There's a good chance Mayock wanted Thornhill and was overruled by Chucky.

I don't know how you cover that guy in the slot, man.

Without a boundary to force him into, what the hell can you possibly do to stay in his pocket? His athleticism is the best in football, you can't just break with him and close and you can't use the sideline to maintain leverage.

I just don't know how the hell you cover that guy in the middle when you can't interrupt his release and he can work either direction in his break.

Zone coverage.

And then Kelce eats you alive.

This year is going to be incredibly fun now that Pat has reading defenses down...Pat.

Thornhill was a first round talent. How he fell to us I had no idea. But I was ecstatic when we drafted him. Looks like he’s living up to his potential so far

Getting these dudes in the slot is just damn near unfair. Andy was ahead of the curve there when he used to do it with TO, it's just hard to cover.

They're gonna use Hardman and Hill to clear out so much space on one side for Watkins to work into from the other side it's gonna be fun.

I have been told that since guys didn't go in the first round they didn't have first round grades or talent or something like that.

You’re such a ****ing moron.

It’s pretty obvious that if you don’t go in the 1st round, the majority of teams probably didn’t have a 1st round grade on you. I don’t know why this is so difficult for you to grasp.

Again, that doesn’t mean that 1st round talent doesn’t slip through the cracks sometimes. I’m not talking in absolutes, but you can’t seem to grasp that either.
