That was the right call. It's not the goal line. The ball is marked out where he crossed the sideline.

Road win in the division. Defense looked really, really good. They owned McCaffrey.

Carolina needs to be thinking about moving on at QB. Cam isn’t a good enough thrower to beat defenses if he isn’t going to run. If his game is one dimensional then he’s not going to be effective.

Ok ... let me get this straight ...

So ... Tampa doesn't like how their defense is lined up, but they've already just called a timeout.

So ... they call another timeout to realign the defense. Fine ... but against the rules.

So ... Rivera throws a fit and the refs throw a flag. Half the distance penalty. So there, Tampa. Take that, you bastards.

So ... while fits and flags are flying and the ball's being re-spotted, Tampa makes changes to their defensive personnel and gets their playcall correct. Which is what they wanted to do anyhow. Difference in the yardage? About 1.

So ... Tampa gives their defense an extra blow, gets their personnel reset properly, gets their goal-line call right, and gets the stop. Essentially benefiting from the penalty.

Is that right?

Basically.

But it's really on Carolina for running a sweep off the direct snap to McCaffery.

Norv Turner is no Andy Reid.

You just knew with Norv guiding them there was absolutely no way they were going to score.
