From what I've been able to find, what Boss Chief is talking about how has only happened once or twice in NFL history.

Who are you going to replace DJ with? KPL is a UFA and finished the year with a grade of 48. Are you going to re-sign him?

Alex was a top-5 QB this year. Do you honestly think Reid is going to want to get rid of him? And if he does, you can expect a pretty decent drop-off when you switch to Mahomes next year.

You also need to re-sign/replace Bennie Logan, Wilson, Colquitt, Sherman, and Fulton. And remember Peters is going to earn $10M+ in 2019 and you still need to save some money for Hill.

The Chiefs are in a tough spot.
We'll keep Ford one more year, look to some of the young guys we've drafted to provide depth, and probably take a pass rusher in the 2nd or 3rd. It's not the greatest situation to be in, but every team has a weak spot.

DJ was our worst ILB this year. Addition by subtraction. Wouldn't mind re-signing KPL. Reggie Ragland seems pretty good. It remains to be seen if Veach will drunkenly spend money the way Dorsey did

Reid will get rid of Alex because Mahomes is ready to start his career, Alex is too expensive, and there has never been a better time to sell high on him.

Wilson's replacement is likely already on the roster. We can get any jackass to replace Colquitt. Hopefully Sherman re-signs for a contract just as team-friendly as his last one. Fulton will likely pursue other options in hopes of getting a starting job somewhere, but I'd be willing to spend a little more coin than necessary to keep him around. Bennie Logan is the only glaring issue where his production negates the spending power the Chiefs have. I'd prefer we look elsewhere, but I haven't seen who's available in free agency.

We'll have all the cash we need to take care of those problems and also acquire an additional starting calibre player to plug in somewhere on the team. We could also choose to just nibble away at depth and bring in a bunch of 1-year small money guys.

We have a ton of options once we get rid of the aging vets with bad contracts.

I just don't see KC getting any better. I see them staying the same or getting worse.

The rest of the division, OTOH, will all have the ability to make some leaps.

Our backups just embarrassed your team and you think losing 3 overpaid and over the hill vets is going to hurt us?

Gimme a break.

KC will have 30-40m in cap space and will be already adding Mahomes and Berry to the lineup as well as getting some draft compensation for Smith, as well.

Denver has 2 WRs that won’t be there in 2 years, a bunch of overpaid a bad oline, no TEs, no RBs, no QBs, their cb situation is gonna get dicey real quick when they release Talib and give Roby a big payday...Wolfe won’t ever be healthy, the coach is in over his head and they are mentally dominated by KC.

I hope you really enjoyed the Manning years.

KC barely finished with a record better than 9-7. They aren't good. They were propped up by a guy they hate. If Denver and KC swapped QB's, the Bills would be picking in the top 5 in April.

These wins the past two weeks have really inflated the perception of the Chiefs. They're not that good. Smith's efficiency carried your team this year.
