It’s fun to think about Jefferson catching balls from Mahomes, but does this really make any sense for us? We traded away Tyreek and won two Super Bowls by redeploying that savings towards defense. Reversing that and losing someone like Bolton, Jones, Sneed, Creed or someone would be at odds with what has made us successful. We are the rare team that does not need a superstar WR to have a prolific offense because we have Mahomes. Get a WR in the draft, another in free agency, and keep the money and the picks for other uses.

It's a hell of a lot slimmer margins making this trade bc it's gonna be at least 2 1sts, a 2nd and probably a day 3 pick considering how late we pick. Then we're paying him $30 million+ per year?

Yeah...trading valuable assets and setting your cap on fire with no cheap players for a few years seems fun.

The trade and pay stuff ain't happening with Mahomes making what he's making.

It wouldn’t be 30 million until the ‘26 season. 19.7 this season. Reduced rate in year one of the new contract. Then jacked rate. Books are essentially clear by then.

We could actually have a ton of money with a Mahomes restructure and MVS cut this year. 19.7 fits in easily. Room to do much more as well.

This is true.

That point where the Jefferson cap skyrockets, though (and he's probably looking for at least $35M AAV) is when not having a 2024 1st and not having a 2025 1st and missing a 3rd and a 4th starts to show up on your roster. So you've got holes from those lack of picks that you are trying to plug, too.

The risk involved in pretty substantial. Let's say we do this and it is backloaded. Say JJ tears his ACL or ruptures his Achilles.

Now you're good and well ****ed. The money is paid regardless and you've set 2 first rd picks, a second and a day 3 pick on fire to acquire him weakening the team being unable to draft cheap talented players.

That's the kinda thing that ruins a dynasty. At that point you're going through what the Broncos are going through, which would make Patrick's life harder.

Trust your GM. Gain flexibility and keep drafting well

This team is deep and a quick way to stop being that is by throwing a bunch of picks at any non QB position.

Fill those holes with a set of four peat Lombardis. Problem solved.

SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS

It’s a fun idea, it’d be the storyline of the whole offseason…

But every time I think about the cost I get cold feet. It’s just too much for one player, even the best WR in the league.

We’ve won two Super Bowls in a row without a marquee wide out. Should we try to improve at the position? Absolutely. But there’s zero evidence that this is what we need to win championships. In fact, the evidence shows the contrary.

Instead of Jefferson how about go after the Lions young receiver. Lions need a DT BAD and they would be fine without Williams.

Lions get Jones+Skyy or MVS and Veach gets #29+Jameson Williams.

Rice and Williams are the perfect young WR duo on cheap contracts.

Take our now two 1st round picks and trade up and get our LT. Hell even add in more pick/s and go get Joe Alt!

No one is trading for MVS or Skyy.

Jameson Williams is a fancy decoy.

If you want a better decoy than MVS just take Franklin.

The dynasty thing is set. It's done. There's not more to do for that. What you're looking at now is long term stuff that doesn't happen often.
