I wouldn't want to be in a car accident right now but I assume the odds might be lower , it is tempting to go out and rent a Porsche though.

We're inching towards a dystopian police state anyway. Why not steer into the skid?

Couple things...you can't use them everywhere, most places view them the same a smoking a cigarette. And I know numerous people that have successfully used them to quit smoking, and then quit using them as well not too long after.

Now that they're at/near peak contraction they suddenly found said capacity? Essentially overnight? Not buying it.

OK, this helps to make sense of it a lot:

Quote:
"Those models that were done, they assumed that only about 50% of the American public would pay attention to the recommendations. In fact, it would seem, a large majority of the American public are taking the social distancing recommendations to heart -- and I think that's the direct consequence of why you're seeing the numbers are going to be much, much, much, much lower than would've been predicted by the models," Redfield said.
At least it's not "we played with the numbers a bunch and came up with a new answer!"

I usually go out just after sunset and tear it up. There's no one on the interstate and it's definitely safer to drive like a hooligan. Hell I hit 85 mph just going up the on ramp the other night. It's also extremely therapeutic.
