Sounds like a last minute attempt by the owners to squeeze out a little more revenue.

Updated plans on STLtoday site:

Cards to kneel — and then stand
Shildt said the Cardinals may well take a knee for a moment of silence and then stand for the anthem. “There’s clarity as to what we’re going to do. We do understand that the anthem is a sacred thing. And the flag is a very sacred thing. We respect that, of course, and will respect it," Shildt said.

“If we do something in a moment of silence and kneel prior to that, that’s totally different and separate from the anthem which we’ll respect and stand for.

“Our guys are ready. Their heads are in the right place. They’re looking for a peaceful way to bring a little more awareness to something that’s taken place for generations in our country.”

Probably as strong a lineup as they can put out there (Carlson not being there being the notable exception). And if Goldschmidt, Carpenter and Fowler play to some level of their career averages, it's actually a pretty good one.

If they play like they played last year (the far more likely scenario), it's gonna be average on its good days and a complete skid-mark on occasion.

you think the trio in the outfield will only get a week to prove they are an everyday outfielder or else Carlson takes their place? Well Bader and O’Neill anyway. Fowler could hit .200 all 60 games and still start.

I don’t see allowing them to struggle for only a week, but Carlson will get his opportunity.

first AB’s O’Neill muscles out a HR. Bader looked lost and SO looking on something he could have crushed but got fooled. Can O’neill or Carlson play CF regularly?
