*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

That was actually good stuff and you can argue it both ways on most topics

But who is more innovative in play calling? Its ****ing Andy Reid all day long, stop with that McVay stuff. He is doing good but he isnt Reid yet.

Also KC has played a much tougher schedule than the Rams.

Yeah ... Whittles missed a golden opportunity to shut those boys down on the McVay/Reid argument.

Just ask, "Which coach steals more plays from the other coach?". Debate closed. Winner declared.

How amazing would it be if Peyton had to make one of these for Pat for breaking his TD record?

This right here. The big picture, offensively, looks fantastic. And we ARE "winning with style", looking like a squad that belongs in this league alongside the best.
A few wise moves on the other side of the ball, and there is no reason that the Chiefs can not accomplish great things for a long time to come.

I must have blacked out during the Brodie Croyle era. I seriously don't remember him throwing for that many yards. Is there a highlight video somewhere?

I'm bumping this after watching MNF last night. Holy shit. I bet Alex's RBs, TEs and WRs hate him. AP is lucky he isn't crippled for life.

Thompson is probably still picking rib shards out of his spleen. On a play that meant absolutely nothing, Alex got the guy crushed.

There was some serious PTSD involved in watching that game. The first drive was just peak Alex - 2nd and 10, he throws a swing pass to his RB that everyone in the world saw coming and AP gets blasted. 3rd and 10, he throws a 5 yard hitch with another yard of YAC so they punt on 4th and 4.

Hidden touchdowns indeed...

And those examples are some of the reasons the whole “ball protection is most important!” concept is ridiculous when it comes to QBs.

Ball protection is important ... but it’s less important than the ability to make difficult throws, or challenge the whole field, or anticipate receivers breaking open (throwing them open).

If you don’t have at least 2 of those factors, all the ball protection in the world won’t matter.

That was an Ok game for the Chiefs starting QB. Think about that. He's a first year starter still and made some gaffs. It happens.

But an OK game (IMO, maybe others feel different) he was 22-38 for 313 and two INT's, 2-4 on scoring TD"s in the redzone and missed a few shots.

That's not a good game by any means looking at the box score, but for a 1st year starter against that D, it was ****ing fun to watch.
I hate that when you criticize something Mahomes did people automatically assume you're a hater and don't like Mahomes.

Mahomes was decent this week. There were about 5 throws he should have had that for some reason he didn't including the interceptions. He had other good throws too. On a Mahomes/franchise QB standard, this was definitely just an okay game. I think he gets back on track next week though. It's weird as hell he hasn't connected on a 9 route throw though. He's missed on at least 4 sure TDs this season.

He's hit at least two of them to Tyreek. The play against Ramsey and the one vs the Steelers for a TD.

They're just not going for 70 yard TDs.
