With Bourjos at third, any ball hit more than 200 feet is a must-tag.

It's a win. I mean I don't how you came back from a 3 game losing streak where you couldn't hit to go on a 4 game winning streak. I was told that your season is over when that happens.

Why does anyone ever EVER go below Jason Heyward's waist? Same thing I said a week ago - don't pitch him low. It gives him a chance to extend.
If you watch that swing in slow-mo, his legs didn't get way ahead of his top half there, so that worked out nicely. But if they'd have brought it up on him, he'd have never kept his hands inside well enough to keep it fair and that's assuming he'd have even opened his hips quickly enough to keep from jamming himself and rolling it to 1b. Throw it at his belly button and on the inner 1/3. He'll never do anything with it. By putting it low on him he could keep his hands back, drop the bat head and extend his arms to drive it. It was just a stupid pitch location because conventional wisdom says to keep it low to keep it on the ground. Do NOT keep it low against Jason Heyward. It's the only ball he can hit with authority. |

PS: I !@#$ing love Peter Bourjos.
There's no substitute for straight up speed. If he can bat .250 and give you a .300 OBP, that's more than enough to make him a more valuable player than Jon Jay. He brings so much to this ballclub every time he's on the field. |
