Bubba not in Omaha lineup today.
Could be nothing. OTOH, Gore has played once since May 8 and is 1 for his last 5 steal attempts. |

Watching Owings bat is enough to make me watch women's softball.

Dayton should be ashamed that he signed Owings, and Ned should be ashamed for playing him......virtually every stinking day. The guy has no clue what to do with a baseball bat.
Plus, he’s a rotten pitcher. |

Its pretty well established that there will be a shit caliber player on the roster every year and that player will get several hundred shit ABs.

Does Mondesi have a neck issue? He is always acting like he has a sore neck.

Hey Duncan (or anyone who knows these things), is there a generational talent or great player coming for the 2020 draft that we should absolutely be tanking for? Or is it too early to say?

There's great players in every draft. It's just that no one knows who they are until a few years after the draft.

That's Gabriel Cancel. Seems to be doing pretty good in AA. It just sorta sucks for him because he plays 2B and SS. I don't think there's going to be much of an opportunity for him. I like what im seeing from the pitchers in the minors. For as bad as our minor league hitters have been the pitchers have been the exact opposite. Singer Kowar and Lynch should be moving to AA soon and that will make some room at A+ for a few of the pitchers in Low A ball. Lots of strong starts down there Bubic, Bowlan, Haake, and Neuweiler. Lots and lots of pitchers in the minors that are performing. Hell id bring up Singer, Kowar, and Lynch and put them in the big league rotation. They were all successful college pitchers and are all almost 23. Im honestly not entirely sure why they're only in A+. It's not like there is anyone worth a shit at pitcher in AA. Also wtf is Bubic still in Low A for? He has a 2.21 ERA, a sub 1 WHIP, he's striking out damn near 15 batters per 9 innings pitched. How is he being challenged at this point? BTW, I was kidding about Singer, Kowar, and Lynch in the bigs. Dont want any of DMs defenders in here telling me why thats stupid. But what does need to happen is Singer, Kowar, Lynch, and Bubic all need to be in AA. Get those 4 facing real competition. If they do well they can start out in AAA next year with the hope that some are in the bigs by the end of May or early June. AA is usually the level that pitchers flame out IIRC. If someone can confirm or correct me on that. |

All the top hitting prospects are in A ball too. The idea is hopefully they move up together, but the way it's going the pitchers are going to advance well before the hitters do
As for Singer, you have to remember he didn't pitch last year after being drafted, so these are his first minor league starts. They were probably going to give him a few starts to prove what he's doing is for real. |

Singer, Lynch and Kowar will likely all move to AA around the ASB. That’s pretty typical movement. Their spots in Wilmington will be filled by some combination of Bubic, Haake, Bowlen, etc.
Bubic’s numbers may be a bit confusing. He’s not a hard thrower but is very polished and has good deception. That combo needs to get tested at High-A before hitting AA. Best case scenario for him is Marco Gonzales unless he finds 2-3 mph on his average fastball. |
