Texans watch

I think we are on a collision course with Proto-Mahomes

I watched it. He was absolutely garbage. Pack gave them easy points on turnovers and that was it.

You can confuse him and screw with his processing, which is why I bet GB. Unfortunately Green Bay did their own stupid shit keeping the game closer than it should have been.
Green Bay's defensive line just dominated the Texans offensive line. Stroud was running for his life the whole game. Should have been a blowout, but Green Bay did its best to give the game away. They gave up 17 points off turnovers.

NFL offenses need to reinvent themselves every year, defenses are too good and too quick at adjusting nowadays to just try to redo what you did last year. And teams have the blueprint to stop Shanahan style offenses like what Slowik runs, especially when you don't have elite talent (injuries the cause here).

I've strongly maintained the following for years now (especially during the height of Burrow's ridiculous hype, which even infected this board) and don't see it changing for at least another year or 2.

1. Mahomes
-gap-
2. Allen
-gap-
3. everyone else
This keeps being true game after game, week after week. Stroud, Burrow, it was Hurts for a minute, in a couple of months I'm sure it'll be Daniels. They're all flavor of the moment.

I guess Lamar is firmly 3 now. But we'll see come playoffs how he does.

The best thing Lamar has going for him with his traits is a competent organization. I strongly believe he’d already be an afterthought (even more) if he was drafted somewhere else.

And don’t forget the love people had for the Deshaun Watson Texans during his rookie year. Same with the Baker Browns when they got OBJ.

No. They're good when healthy. Just playing without their #1 & #2 WR's, and a couple of players on defense. They're NOT the Chiefs!

Watson was good for a couple years, but he'd sure fallen off by the time the world figured out his butthole rapey thing.

Baker I think was better than he got credit for and the Browns were ****s for dumping him on an injury.

But your point stands. Guys need to be able to attack all levels of a defense or they'll eventually get figured out.

Lamar has made me eat some crow though. I figured his career would be over by now. He's a lot better than I thought he'd be.
