Mooney is not a top-notch receiver... more like a top-notch dropper...
Amirite?? (Sorry, just wanted to keep the fake news going...) |

Mooney would be a massive upgrade over any WR not named Rice here.

Mooney is an obvious fit. He's got speed, is an intelligent route runner, can make difficult catches and works inside and outside. His talent with Pat could really turn him into a very good receiver imo. Plus he had his best year with Nagy as HC.

Drop info:
2020: 98 targets, 1 drop, 1.0 drop % 2021: 140 targets, 9 drops, 6.4% 2022: 61 targets, 2 drops, 3.3% 2023: 61 targets, 3 drops, 4.9% Career: 350 targets, 15 drops, 4.3% drop rate League average for WRs is like 7.3%. The idea that Mooney has a drops issue is as off-base as it gets. |

The thing about Mooney is that he would allow you to possibly target one of these big WRs in the draft too. That or you just continue adding speed.

Exactly what I want to do. Mooney and Hardman as the speed and a faster guy who can give you some of that Rice did would be nice, especially with Kelce’s age

Adonai and Rashee can bully people and Mooney, Slayton can stretch the field.

Hardman does the gadget/motion stuff. Mooney is the Z receiver. Rice is the bully slot. Round 2 WR plays outside. Someone like Xavier Legette or Brendan Rice would be pretty nice fits in that situation. I'm warming up to Rice. I like the size, I want to see if he runs in the 4.3s as expected, and I keep seeing him show good instincts on play extensions. That's going to matter as long as 15 is taking snaps. |

Mooney’s decline in production is probably due to Fields being so bad.
If he had a big season with the Chiefs, he could probably be in line for either a big extension or monster deal from some other team next year. He might be wise to take a reasonable 1-year with the Chiefs and get paid the following season. |

The issue is value. Would I want to spend a 1st on a slot guy instead of a #1 WR? |

Moore was at 71% with the same QB Fields completed 63% of his passes to everyone else last year and barely 50% to Mooney. I think I’d rather just see them bring Mecole back…or even Richie James. |

Why not just keep giving snaps to Skyy Moore. |
