Do you really take some time to appreciate where we are?

Became a Chiefs fan in the early 90's when Word, Okoye, DT, Smith was here.

Looking back on 30+ years with this team. I remember the 97 playoffs like it was yesterday when we went 13-3 and the ****ing Vaseline greased up donkey dicks beat us in Arrowhead and what an absolute gut punch that was.

So I wanna share something here. I went through some awful shit in my teen years with multiple friends being killed and a lot of other stuff in my life.

One thing I really learned from loss, was how to appreciate when things were truly good.

As a fan, sometimes I just sit and think it's wild for us to be here in this position. Where we're the absolute center of every sports show, every commentator, all the hate we get (which I love), and the fact that from top to bottom we have the best organization in the NFL.

Bro it feels weird to even type that with all the Carl Peterson years (some weren't that bad but some were truly awful).

You guys don't know this but I was friends with Jovan Belcher and I remember the day the news hit and before I even saw the name I knew. Don't ask me how but I did. He used to text me about upgrades for his car and send me pics and vice versa.

I'm friends with several former Chiefs players and sometimes we talk about how crazy this time is.

Anyway, the point is......man I hope you guys really take all this in right now because we will never get it again like this.

From Pat, to Andy, Trav, this defense, everything. There are fans for teams for 50+ years that die and never see a single Lombardi. EVER. We've seen 3 in four years. And hopefully the only 3peat to ever happen.

Just a reminder to really be present. This is some damn good times to be a Chiefs fan, fellas.

Going to 6 straight AFCCG's, going to 4 out of the last 5 Superbowls winning 3 of them changes some people into being appreciative of what they have now and it makes some people very spoiled and unappreciative.

The majority seem to be appreciative, the loud minority of people who think we're doing bad while undefeated because the passing stats aren't there are the ones that got spoiled and can't appreciate anything or didn't go through the 30+ years of pain that a lot of us went through with our favorite team.

Appreciate the actual good response to my post rather than acting like some TikTok Gen Z bitch that needs his ass kicked.

It really is amazing to think that this is literally one of the most magical type runs of any team *in any sport* in history.

And all working in perfect synchronization.

I appreciate the fact someone buried a chiefs flag under raiders stadium. Can’t dissuade me of it till they lose.

Excellent thread.

Basking in the success we have enjoyed for our team recently it is good to reflect back at some not so successful seasons. I remember in 84 being thrilled with getting to 8 and 8 sandwiched by two 6-10 seasons then total bliss getting a wildcard in 86 at 10-6. That success was primarily due to the stellar play of the special teams.

If they pull this 3 peat off, I wouldn't even be mad if they sucked next year and missed the playoffs. Hell, they could probably use the break.

I don't think that would happen unless we get even more unlucky with injuries but I wouldn't be mad if it did.

This post just proves how thin skinned you are. Sack up, Gertrude. This is Chiefs Planet. If you’re so easily offended by words on the internet, maybe this isn’t the best place for you.

Football is about the right timing and some luck. We just happened to need a head coach when Eagles fired Andy Reid. The rest is history! None of this happens without Andy. Now to keep it going and keep winning championships its a complete team job from front office down. Veach knows when to not pay players and move on which has been huge to Chiefs continued success.

Most of us here went through decades of heartbreak and misery. If anyone is taking what we have for granted, they likely hopped on the bandwagon after Mahomes lit the world on fire in his first season as a starter.

I've been a fan since Leeny the cool to Otis Taylor in the SB. I was a fan in the 80's. Season ticket holder for 15 years. Suffered along with all of you the disappointing seasons and playoff games.

I'm trying to stay in the moment. Just trying to enjoy my team's success. But, I'm fixated on the 3peat. I want it soooo bad. Now, I'm getting greedy. I want my team to be the best dynasty in the history of football.
