And Cook simply didn't look like someone that wanted to be out there. He looked intimidated by it. I think he knew he wasn't sound and that was that. And annoyingly, i think the staff knew it as well. But they also knew Pyne sucked. So they went out there with a 'keep it close and pray' gameplan that really never had a chance to work against a 'Bama team with its back against the wall. That's the first game over the last 2 seasons where having Horn may have really impacted the outcome. Even if he's just a healthy backup, I gotta believe he'd have started that game given what we saw from Cook. |

Little boring.
I mean, we never gave them cause to feel anything either way. That game would've been dull even from the winning side. They were all pretty cordial during the pre-game but nothing like we've seen at, say, West Virginia. Those guys were militantly friendly. I was also blackout drunk before kickoff on their account. I mean every last one of them would invite us into their tailgate for some food and moonshine. That place was fantastic. I'd say that Alabama had a really big tailgate atmosphere but were oddly ambivalent towards our presence either way. Nobody rude, nobody super stoked to have us there. Which is different from anything else I can recall. Tennessee was ornery. WVU was friendly as hell. And everywhere else has been kinda blase when it comes to tailgating either way. As I think about it, it's maybe a little similar to how CoMo can be against some non-con rummie. "Oh hey look, West Bum**** state has fans! And they came all this way to lose by 30. Good for them..." {goes back to drinking and playing bags} But when SEC opponents come in, we're always chatting them up (and then decide if we're gonna be friendly or assbags based on their response). So I guess when you're Alabama, most anyone that isn't Georgia, Auburn, LSU or UT is going to be looked at as West Bum**** State? Kinda makes sense. |

Side note - Alabama barbecue ****ing SUCKS.
We went to some spot on the outskirts of Tuscaloosa that won all kind of "Best Barbecue in Alabama" awards and on my worst day I make better barbecue than those guys. I had to come home through Memphis just to get the taste out of my mouth. I could get barbecue at a gas station in Memphis and it would be better than the best 'Bama had to offer. I mean, I'd get shot (lord is Memphis a shithole) but the barbecue would be better. |

So pretty sure I have some intel on Cook (we'll see if said guy is right).
It appears he has a radial styloid fracture in his right wrist. It's the big lump on the inside of your wrist. Kinda critical for throwing a football. I think Glover still has his redshirt intact and can keep it if he plays from this point forward. So can we pretty pretty please be done with the Pyne experience? |
