I can remember when 3rd and 4th and short were a death sentence to a drive. Now they are almost automatic first downs. Hunt is just money in those situations.

49ers Fans: "But, But, But, ... the Chiefs get all the calls!"
Except for a blatant cheap shot to Mahomes throat, where no flag was thrown. |

Kareem Hunt is running his heart out for this team right now. The guy was an absolute monster today even though the running lanes weren't usually there.

We are very lucky that Kareem hunt is good. I’m floored he wasn’t on another team with the way he’s playing
I thought it was a desperation hire but we just might have the best 1-2 punch at RB. If only we could find that with the WR room we’d be unstoppable |

I liked the little bootleg passing play to Perine late in the game. It was 3rd and 4. It was a nice easy throw for Mahomes (zero risk of a batted ball) and Perine gained 22 yards. I want to see more plays like that one. Perine needs to be more involved in the passing game.

True. But they are good where the Chiefs are weak, and that can cause problems. Crosby can wreck any given play going against either of our Tackles.

Few random thoughts not specific to this game:
- Brett Veach is the best GM in the NFL, and better specifically than Howie Roseman. There's no debate there. - Trent McDuffie is the 2nd-best corner in the NFL, and better specifically than Sauce Grabner, THE most overrated player in the NFL. - Spags not winning assistant coach of the year would be the biggest scam ever. Again, no debate here whatsoever. |

Good takes - the only issue with the 4th down fake punt is that we have done poorly on going inside and I think a pass to the outside or a wide run to the strong side would have been better odds.
I think the Chiefs did a quick snap to catch them off guard and obviously it didn't work. No problem with it at that time of the game. |

Hunt just looks like a man on a mission....he is showing that he still has something left in the tank. And it couldn't come at a more perfect time....can you imagine at the end of the year, when we need it for the playoffs, the tandem of Hunt/Pacheco/Perine? (Sneaky good play by Perine in the latter part of the game....that big pickup was key) |

And....teams have now figured out C J Stroud and how to corral him. Not having Nico Collins helps, but he is not playing like last year when people underestimated him. Buffalo will find a way to stub their toe along the way....they always do. |

They also need to the throw the ball to both backs and Steele too (except those weird trick plays, let's not) IMO. I'm guessing that's Mahomes not Reid because Reid has a long history of throwing to backs, but I think given the room, there needs to be a little dab of Alex Smith in the offense. Quote:

Anyone chuckle at the play where both Wentz and Mahomes were in the game?

Favorite moments of the game:
Mahomes' 33 yard run Mahomes trucking #8 as he ran in for the TD The reaction of the lady in the end zone seats trying to get video of a 49ers' TD when Hicks intercepted the ball. Gray jumping over #8 while #8 was trying for another kill shot. |
