Side tangent, but this ^ sarcastic boomer take gets people into bad situations. You could burn your house down with a shit cable that has a ghetto controller...Spend the extra money on decent cables (USB-C).

Do HDMI cables need to be high speed? I know when the standard came out there was a big deal about not needing gold plated cables. I haven’t followed it very much anymore.

Any HDMI cable that is rated 18 Gbps max bandwidth is sufficient for 4K. Many of the old standard HDMI cables are rated for this and even exceed it. The audio-videophile cable racket is a money maker but its fools gold.
