Plus the carries Henry would have had Lamar took on his scrambles and he averaged 7.6 yards per carry. The lack rushing attempts by Henry is quite irrelevant. They still got the yards.

The problem is Lamar just can’t consistently make the throws that any average qb can make. Lamar had 3 open receivers and missed all 3. The ravens lose to the Chiefs because they can’t get a lead and lean on their running game, and have to ask Lamar to make plays with his arm.
In the last 2 games, the Ravens spent a good deal of the time down only one score. You don't choose to be one dimensional when you're down one score.

Especially when it's Lamar Jackson that you're deciding to go all pass offense with.

Down 2 scores, sure. Gotta do something. But in the opener, from the moment KC answered the score by the Ravens with a score of their own just 2 minutes later, John Harbaugh had already shit his pants in fear, and the running game was an afterthought.

He does not have the patience to stick with his running game, because, justifiably so, he's terrified of Patrick Mahomes.

In the afc title game with the worst offense Mahomes has ever ran, Harbaugh rushed only 6 times with running backs.

The Ravens only shot to ever beat KC is to get extremely lucky with turnovers by KC, while having a 40+ minute time of possession focused on a running game that limits Mahomes ever being on the field.

That's it. Because Lamar Jackson is never going to win a contest dropping back to pass 40 times against Patrick Mahomes.
He’s also not winning by running like he does either. I do think he did a lot of those runs because he felt like he had to. It’s not a winning formula and you are correct about how the Ravens need to beat KC.

Baltimore trailed most of the second half of the AFCCG by 10 points. Their opening drive of the second half included 2 runs for 4 yards. Running more wasn’t going to get them back into the game. It’s not how football works.

Thursday, the ravens trailed by doubled digits 3 minutes into the 2nd half. Henry had 13 carries. 8 in the first half for 4.1 ypc and 5 in the second for 2.6. Again, they weren’t coming back down double digits in the second half running the ball. Also, ravens DID run the ball, they were just shambles by Lamar. Lamar averaged 7.63 ypc. And many of those were for first downs. So, the ravens still ran the ball. And more efficiently.

Ravens run the ball as much as they do because they are usually LEADING or the game is within a score. Against the Chiefs that’s rarely been the case.
