*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Uhhh ok. I thought maybe we’d talk more about the winning team first, y’know. Probably makes more sense to do that? Just a thought.

I have respect for Burrow but he’s slowly climbing up the overrated list. Especially when people predict MVP seasons from him. When has that guy ever stayed healthy or put up elite regular season numbers to even be CONSIDERED for that award? And that’s all with Chase, too!
Burrow is more overrated than Josh Allen. Burrow has missed 50% of his career with season-ending injuries while Allen has stayed healthy for 6 years. Check out the Playoff stats on both of them. Allen’s Playoff stats are really strong, while Burrow’s Playoff stats are just game manager stuff. Burrow hasn’t thrown a TD pass in the 4th quarter of 7 Playoff games.

Burrow has gotten more help from his defense than any QB since Tom Brady. In 4 of Burrow’s 5 Playoff wins, the Bengals defense held the opponent below 20 points. The defense even scored a 99 yard TD to flip the script on a 17-17 Playoff game against the Ravens. Even in their losses, the Cincy defense only allowed 23 points to very explosive offenses led by Stafford & Mahomes.

Josh Allen’s defense has repeatedly let him down every year in the Playoffs. Mahomes’ defense hasn’t been perfect either: 5 Playoff games above 30 points and the Chiefs were lucky enough to win 3 of those games instead of losing all of them.

What I find most interesting is that Lamar was voted the 2nd best qb while also receiving votes for the most underrated qb.

So the cult of Lamar persists among the players too.

Mahomes should get some votes in the Underrated category. Around 20% of the voters said he’s not the best QB. So he’s underrated from that standpoint IMHO.

I'm not Simms biggest fan, but he's pretty darn good. One of the best in the media. And he's way better in the longform stuff than the snippets NBC tries to get out of him.

Most of all, unlike most athletes, he can park his ego for what he did and "his time" and keeps from comparing current dudes to his era.

He's obviously also a fan of football (as opposed to a fan of himself like a lot of douches).

Thanks for posting.

Did you notice he mentioned that Taylor Swift had a couple ideas for new plays?

Andy. Please. You have to. Please run one of those in a playoff game and make it score a TD. And then tell everybody it was Taylor Swift.

Watch the entire NFL fanbase have a nuclear meltdown.

Priceless.

Mahomes has never been as dialed in as right now. Never been more focused. He was happy to win the SB last year but he is PISSED the offense was as bad as it was. He is a petty competitive mother****er and he knows SOME people are just saying it was a product of the defense. He's going to go absolutely scorched Earth this year. I'm not saying 55 TDs but he's going to put up yuuuge numbers.

Josh Allen has reached the Clayton Kershaw zone.

Even when a post-season loss is CLEARLY his fault, they start talking about how great he is in the regular season and how this game clearly isn't his fault.

It's not quite Lamar Jackson bad, where nothing is his fault ever. But for anyone to blame a bad game on Allen, he really needs to give up 8 earned runs in 3 innings or something.

It's gotta be REAL bad.

They aren’t wrong last year. Had KC’s defense not been elite they don’t win the SB. Nothing wrong with that as he still won a SB along with SB MVP.
