83% on rotten tomatoes for a movie like this is pretty good. It's certainly better than I would have imagined it would get. Can't wait to see it this weekend.

I saw it tonight. Overall a solid flick, with some really good set pieces that do a good job of keeping the franchise fresh. The last part of the movie will be hit or miss for some. I think fans of the franchise will really enjoy it, even if it is more like Alien and not trying to do anything that's brand new.

The first 70% of this movie is nails, you can make up your mind on the last part, this movie borrows beats from every single Alien movie for better or worse.

I thought it was a big messy pile of “meh”.
A bunch of stupid people doing stupid things and after around the tenth “hey theres another classic shot taken nearly verbatim from [Alien or Aliens]” it just started to piss me off. You have a budget to make an alien movie and we get the same stuff we’ve seen before only not done as well in a script that is no where near as smart. I did like David Jonnson as Andy a lot. Good actor. The rest of the cast were cookie cutter victims who all did pretty stupid things while overacting (the lead girl acted more concerned about her friend throwing up then seeing a xenomorph lol). |

An enjoyable romp through a sidestreet of the Weyland-Yutani universe.
7/10, and the last act had my jaw on the floor. Great creature design and some truly disgusting body horror.

Not at all. But you won't be disappointed.
In fact there was one particular twist on the vagina as a horror device that was thoroughly fresh and hilarious. |
