Looking at the structure of this Jones deal now I’m not so sure

This looks like a set up to keep Sneed one more year

I don’t know a ton about Jameson Williams but I don’t quite get the fascination with acquiring him beyond he was a very high draft pick. I don’t see a ton of production or elite skills beyond speed. Am I missing something?

Edit: I see the “why” was discussed a few hours ago. Put me in the camp of it’s because of his name and draft position, nothing actually about his on field play at this point. We can do better.

Nah.. just the typical Veach contract. Thuney had a 4.5 cap hit in year one, and Taylor was a little over 5.

Still think Sneed is gone, but won’t be surprised.. and almost expecting one mid-high level acquisition

I’m really intrigued by obtaining him as part of the trade. I just have a feeling Andy and Mahomes would be able to get something out of him that would far exceed whatever his trade comp would be.

Tomorrow morning seems ideal while everyone has their money saved up. If not then it can be at any point before the draft or even during the draft. I wouldn't think it take that long though. Sneed is in high demand.

Also, I’m sure the Chiefs would like to spend that money if they ultimately plan to trade Sneed.

He’s a piece that definitely impacts how multiple teams proceed (the Chiefs, the team that gets him, and the teams that want him but don’t get him).

I’d be surprised if this lingers past tomorrow. I think the reports that it could take awhile might have been leaked by the Chiefs to get teams to be more aggressive.
