Hadn't heard that. Considering how primitive the CGI was in that movie, though, I think they'd need to go well beyond remastering. The visuals were groundbreaking back in 1984, but now they're the equivalent of the Wright Brothers' first flight in a world of jets.

You have to appreciate The Last Starfighter for being one of the pillars that future visual effects were built upon.
Plus the story is just good clean fun, with a hilariously cheesy villain, and a great score. It's like a live-action cartoon. |
