Vacation in Orange Beach, AL
So, we're heading to Orange Beach next week, and, of course, it's supposed to rain the majority of the time we're there. We are going to head up to Mobile for a day to visit the USS Alabama (the kiddo will love the submarine), and we are hoping to be able to do a public charter fishing trip Thursday morning (day with least chance of rain). My niece highly recommends Sea N Suds in Gulf Shores.
Any recommendations for other things to do in case we get rained out of some on-the-water activities? The kiddo's 8th birthday will be that Wednesday that we're there. Thanks! |

I follow this Youtube guy by the name of Peter Santenello. He recently dropped a video about Fairhope Alabama, on the other side of Mobile Bay. Looks like an interesting place to visit.

Went to Destin in 2021 and stopped by the USS Alabama and my 2 boys loved it. Granted they were younger than your son. Regardless it was really cool.
Unfortunately there isn't much around Mobile. There is a Bucees just East of Mobile. Not too far. Hope your son gets to see the USS Alabama site without rain bc it really was great for everyone in my family. Here's some pics |

The USS Alabama was a fun tour of the entire grounds.
I didn't make it here, but I heard really good things about it. It is located in Pensacola. https://navalaviationmuseum.org/ |

My in laws are snow birds and go to Gulf Shores, AL for the month of February every year. Went once, had a great time, really enjoyed the dolphin watching trips and the small town atmosphere.

Was there last August but it didn't rain so we were on the beach the whole time. We did go to an arcade that my kids loved for part of a day.

Go to the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola. It's fantastic.
