I've gone on rants like that a lot. Fifty years without a Super Bowl win. Twenty-two years without a playoff win. Some of the most inexplicable playoff losses ever. No, ladies, none of that shit went away because we're winning now. So **** you.

I mean, I don't remember if I actually ever went on a rant like that except in my own mind, or to my fellow Chiefs fans. But I remember all of it. Hell, after the 2016 season, I was a **** hair from quitting on the Chiefs. I just reached a limit on watching my team fail to win a playoff game, knowing it was just going to go on and on and on, forever.

And then Mahomes happened, and now I'm reaping the rewards of sticking it out through four straight decades of misery. Excuse me if I have a shit-eating grin on my face every once in a while, and all through the playoffs. I feel like I earned it. I feel like we all did.

I took a year off from CP after the Colts loss.

The Mahomes draft pick really saved me. After losing that Steelers game, there just wasn't any cause for optimism at all. We were players in someone else's story.

Didn't matter the year or the reason. Whatever the outcome, our best case scenario was being the opponent at some point in some other team's 'Path to the Super Bowl' video.

It looked griiiiiiiiiiiim.

We earned this.

I said it another thread. I gave up mod-2016 and left CP for a long stretch. I was convinced it would never happen.

**** yes, we did. We ate shit every year, over and over. And kept coming back for more, every following season. And now, we're the champions. And I don't know about anyone else, but I just wanted one. That's all I needed. The idea of a dynasty never crossed my tiny mind. That was too big a dream.

So yeah, I'm enjoying it. I'm not being a prick about it (most of the time), but yeah, I find the tears of my enemies absolutely delicious, thank you, and yes, I'll have seconds.

You're goddamn right we did. And I'll argue it's made us appreciate it all the more. You think the Colts really appreciated Luck? **** them. Packers with Rodgers, or now Love? **** them. Preachy ass Cheatriot ****bags coming off Bledsoe? Nope.

The pain makes this feel extra special.

Yep. It was after 2017 for me. The Titans blown lead loss. I told my dad who I watch all of the games with that I'll give the kid a chance next season and if he busts I can't keep doing this to myself. I would still be a fan, but I had to distance.

Fortunately Patrick Mahomes II was not a bust.

The years since Mahomes became our starting QB have been delicious for starving Chiefs fans....every time we won a Super Bowl I would have to listen to how lucky we are and how Mahomes gets all the calls that Brady use to.

On more than one occasion I would go on a rant like Nick without the f bombs....and I never felt guilty afterwards.

You and me both. Thats the cool thing about this place. We all suffered through the bad teams, coaches and GM's. Absolutely horrific playoff losses etc. We get to enjoy these salad days with our fellow Chief fans that we have suffered through together.
