Mike Sweeney is calling this game isn't he? If so I really really like him.

Also I really enjoy this Reggie Miller, JJ Watt, and Luke Wilson commercial.

He looked quite good in making the conversion to SP in San Diego last season and only got better as the season progressed. San Diego did a lot of spade work to get him stretched out and now the Royals are getting the benefit of it. And while he's not a 120 pitch guy, his efficiency will get you 6-7 innings at about 100 pitches. And he's not a fireballer so you don't really have to worry about the max-effort stuff burning him up (though pitchers are pitchers; they're still ticking timebombs). 2/$15 million is gonna be a steal for him when it's all said and done. I mean hell, you can get that much value from him with about 4 good months of pitching over the life of the contract. Guy's nearly half paid-off already... |

Springer/Vlad Jr and Bichette combined probably have an OPS just barely north of .600. And if you take away the 5 day stretch from Vlad where he had 2 homers and 5 hits, they wouldn't even be scratching .600. What the hell happened to those guys? |

Stop bitching because you're shitty right now. Maybe get fat again? Or skinny again? Or whatever the **** it was you did for that season when you actually lived up to the hype. Y'know, that ONE season. In your 6 years in the league. Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. Vlad Jr. is fat Casey Kotchman. |

Bichette is as streaky as it gets (and appears to be going through one of the worst cold streaks of his career) while Springer is just old at this point and is effectively turning into late career Joe Carter/Vernon Wells for the Jays. The Jays should be rebuilding. |
