Andy Reids first game as Chiefs coach

How many of you remmeber this game? Henne & Gabbert played for the Jaguars, Coming off a 2-14 season we actually trailed in the game 2-0, and Anthony Sherman led the Chiefs in receiving yards.

What a remarkable turn around that year was. Made the playoffs with Alex Smith, some JAG interior linemen, A declining D Bowe/Avery/AJ Jenkins as your WRs & Anthony Fasano/Sean McGrath as your tight ends. Something to think about when the freakout crowd complains about things like our current WR room or the LT situation.

That team is the perfect example of how much coaching matters. They were 2-14 the year before, absolutely horrible in every way. There were some changes but it's not like Reid overhauled the entire team. Alex Smith over Cassel was obviously the biggest one but the offense was still Charles and Bowe and the defense still had Hali, Houston, Eric Berry, Derrick Johnson, etc. Completely flipped into a 11 win team that made the playoffs. That would have seemed unbelievable the year before.

My goodness some of those names bring back memories and not in a good way. Just a ton of bad talent on that roster.

Yeah, you almost have to try to be as bad as they were that year.

I was pretty jaded at that point, so I was the Debbie Downer of all the "iT's DifFeReNt ThIS tiMe!!!!"" because they beat the freakin' Jags.

Of course, the bar was set extremely low at that point.

Might have been better if we didn’t lose Hali and Houston in the game before the bye, iirc.

Wasn’t that the year Charles and Flowers got concussions right away in the playoff game, too?

We absolutely would have beat the colts if Charles were there.

Hell we would have done it with Flowers too
