Inside Game Trailer... the story of Tim Donahgy

Seeing that this is a sports forum and a hot topic has been bad officiating thought this was the proper place for this.I'm not posting this to turn into another conspiracy thread because in this case it happened and thought some might enjoy the stories. If a mod feels like it should be moved feel free.

First is a trailer of the new film and second is an interview from a couple of weeks ago with Tim that gives insight to how he got involved etc.

I think only an idiot would think that certain games in all professional sports leagues aren’t steered a certain direction.

There’s just too much money at stake for morality and ethics to win out 100% of the time.

I think there's a BIG difference between one guy, or maybe even a handful of guys, that are on the take, or whatever, and some kind of league-led conspiracy to steer outcomes.

The former involves a few people who are making self-centered decisions for stupid reasons.

The latter involves lots of people who are making decisions that would largely benefit others (the teams involved) and puts the entire league at risk.

Exactly why I posted that I didn't want this to turn into a conspiracy themed thread. The interview I posted is IMO riveting and he tells a lot, even talks about getting his knee cracked by a member of the Gambino crime family while in prison.

There is a strong reason why the professional sports leagues spend a lot of money to watch who is gambling or betting on sports. Once an addictive gambler gets in deep, there is usually just one group that will be their lender of last resort: the mob.

In return they must cross the line to relive their debt. It's why Pete Rose was banned from baseball.

I was shocked that the Raiders were allowed to be located in Vegas. I am going to guess that within 2-3 years at least one Raider will get in serious trouble gambling and drinking in a casino or one Raider will be under investigation for excessive gambling.

At the rate sports gambling is being legalized I wasn't,in fact I'd predict within 2-3 years the Las Vegas stadium will have a sports book and probably a bar with video poker and the like.

Always thought that this subject would make an amazing 30 for 30, but the pussies at ESPN would never risk pissing off the NBA.

They did a good one on the Boston College scandal '78-'79 that Henry Hill (Goodfellas)was part of.

He even mentions how Brady can't be touched but lesser QBs can get illegally drilled without a call.

Yes. There’s plenty of video evidence of this.

Calls out what I've seen for years. Guys like Brady get different calls. The Patriots also play by different rules on defense. Games are steered a certain way to achieve a result. The only question is WHO is influencing them.

I don't see how a person can watch what has happened with "WTF" calls and think it's all legit.

One ref, one call/no call at the right time. That's all it takes to nudge a game.

Hell, the officials tried to hand the Chiefs games this season.
