Coaching

The two biggest coaching questions in my view were these.

Andy, with 1st and 10 from the 16 after an amazing punt return by Hill, takes the ball out of Mahomes' hands entirely, with two handoffs and an option run by Blake Bell at qb. Just ****ing abysmal play selection.

McDerpit

How do you not squib kick the ball off to run off some of the 13 seconds? If that happens, Patrick Mahomes gets one offensive play, not two. Likely the mistake that cost them the game.

They were both fatal decisions, but Mahomes.

The only bad call on the Chiefs series you were referencing is the 3rd down cute call. Not sure how anyone can be upset with 2 runs that put you in a 3rd and 1.

I did notice that Reid has been saving that play and the play action off of the fake FB dive.

That inside handoff to Burton and Bell on the sneak have been super effective this year. Reid clearly had a counterpunch on both.

The fake FB dive worked like a charm. The fake QB Sneak Option…not so much.

I'd probably agree about the playcall. Any one of those 3 plays is probably not terrible, but you're right, in conjunction it needed to be better. On our end, I don't know if it was Mathieu's injury or what, but you'd like to not have a slapdick hang 4 TDs on you. I guess they did well against Diggs, Beasley and Knox, and shut down Singletary in the second half, so I shouldn't bitch. But GOT DAYUM I'm glad we won the toss. Hitchens earned his money on the call. I won't bitch about his salary anymore .

On their end, the kick is more conservative, but really? :17 seconds left, you have to think they could keep us out of FG range. Those defensive playcalls are the problem.

I agree, if your gonna get cute do it 1st and 10. When its 3rd and 1 just line up and blast it across. Go heavy and maybe use Burton.

I was ok with the 2 runs to setup 3rd and 1. But now you have 2 plays to get a yard and Andy calls a play with huge TFL risk that the Bills were ready for. And it happens too much. OTOH he schemed us to the win at the end so can never get too upset at Andy

Pretty bad coaching by us today to be honest, but Mahomes bailed us out.

Couldn't believe we went run, run, gadget play run after the Hill punt return. Just chicken shit play calling.

Many other mailing it in 1st down runs when we need #15 to make the plays.

Bills also shouldn’t have rushed 4 with 13 seconds left. The clock added more pressure to Mahomes than any pass rush would.

I initially thought this as well, but when you're the #1 defense in the league you're pretty set in your ways and gotta believe you can stop at least one of the two plays left.

Mahomes is just savage. The number one defense, and 13 seconds was too much time.

Andy/EB called plays to give us enough yards to kick a game-tying FG in 13 SECONDS. That's what I'll probably remember.

He didn't really. In the post game, Kelce said that he told Mahomes on the last play before OT (before the FG) he probably wasn't going to run the route called. Mahomes then saw the defense and said "do it do it" at the line. The rest is history. It was backyard football.

Sort of. That doesn't work without the other receivers moving the middle defenders to the right.
