So this makes me think Johnston was also probably asked by the team.

Can teams do that?

I've never heard of a team requesting to have a draft prospect workout with their QB before the draft. You would think that the NFLPA wouldn't be a huge fan of that happening.

Does the NFLPA have anything to even say about players that aren't in the NFL?

I'm starting to get the feeling that the Chiefs are going to trade up for a WR like they did with McDuffie.

Probably a loophole in the process where the Chiefs say, "You never said we couldn't do this." Tests the waters and puts the ball in the NFLs court to make a decision of legality. I think it's brilliant, test the chemistry early, have Patrick find out who he thinks has the highest upside.

Not sure...that's why I asked. I'm guessing it's up to the prospect and his agent.

Yep, these guys can work out with whoever they want on their own time. Clearly both of these guys (and their agents) see the dollar signs that could come long term being drafted to play with Mahomes under Reid.

Amazing that they're willing to do this kind of stuff. Never would have seen it in the dark times.

It's a win-win for the players and their agents, too.

Either it means KC is going to give up resources to get them or another team is going to get spooked that KC has them on their radar and will take them earlier than planned to prevent that.
