Yes we out played them. But if Likely TD counts, I have no doubt they go for two and the odds of Ravens getting two would be 50-60%. Our dee was gassed at the end.

No joke. If Lamar just runs it himself for 2 I see little chance we would have stopped him. My heart was in my throat when I saw Harbaugh throw up the "go for 2" fingers.

Didn't know where to place this, so many threads in the last 16 hours or so.

Ravens OLB Kyle Van Noy suffered a fractured orbital bone.

An orbital bone fracture, also known as an eye socket fracture, occurs when one or more bones around the eye break. This can happen when the face is struck by a hard object, such as in blunt force trauma.

The Chiefs dropped two likely TD’s (or in Perine’s case at least a substantial gain) and Mahomes’ INT ended a drive that probably would have resulted in at least a FG.

Not to mention that Andy was conservative in the second hand, the Chiefs were playing without Hollywood, no Omenihu and a rookie LT starting his first game.

The Bengals lived and breathed on “We beat them (KC) 3 times in calendar year”.

And if it goes to 3rd time in going to inject that into every football conversation on this board forevermore.

Correct. When Lamar and Henry wear/break down throughout the season, the Ravens offense is going to fall apart.

When one goes down and the other gets extra workload, it’ll get really ugly.

Despite what Likely thinks, the Chiefs caught the Ravens at their best. NOT the other way around.

Last years? 100% The year before? Not so sure and jury is still out on that one. Saw some struggles in the red zone last night that looked very familiar to last year.

The 2022 offense was one of the most efficient offenses of All-Time. There's a reason Mahomes was the unanimous MVP in 2022 (scratch that, I forgot there was that one dumb **** that voted for Josh Allen )

Obviously there is room to grow still and the big play potential is much greater with this offense, but its got a long way to go to outdo the 2022 Offense.

Yeah, this is the take that folks should be leaving with.

1. The Chiefs significantly outplayed the Ravens.
2. Derrick Henry was not a transformative force who makes the Ravens impossible to stop. He is what he is now - a guy who used to be a transformative force but is less so now, who needs to be used out of I formation or single back sets, with QB under center, to really be effective. I was surprised we didn't see more pistol set usage of him, with him essentially running the FB dive that they used to use Gus Edwards for.
3. The Ravens were a toe away from potentially winning the game with a succesful 2-point conversion, but the Chiefs were also a couple of drops and a narrow missed connection with Perine from turning 2 FG into TDs and a punt into a TD. Final was 27-20 and could have easily been 42-20. If Mahomes floats the tipped pass by Simpson an extra 1/2" over his hand, the Chiefs bleed out the clock, too.
4. The Chiefs are so versatile and have answers all over the place, even without Marquise Brown.
5. Lamar Jackson can't play an entire season like that, and if he tries, he's just further shortening his career window.
6. The Ravens can improve throughout the year, but so can the Chiefs (and so will they).
7. The Chiefs' CB room is not in as dire straits as people might have thought. Watson and Williams both played well.
