With all the guys they're gonna ship out for whoever, why not just send it to Baltimore for Manny?
The contract obviously is the issue there but ****. |

I suspect the Rays are trying to get us to take him as a package for Colome. I don't mind Colome at the right price, but honestly would rather they resign Nicasio as a stop gap to start the season and then look within the organization to groom our own closer within. Depending on who is left (Hudson, Hicks, etc.). |

If they'll eat a majority of his contract, sure I'll take him.

Decimating the best OF in baseball last year and the best thing to come out of it would be Starlin Castro, Alcantara, and salary savings. That would raise some eyebrows if I was an investor. Last edited by jd1020; 12-13-2017 at 01:16 PM.. |

Goold of the Post-Dispatch clears up the Piscotty trade rumors. Says Piscotty wants to be back in the Bay Area to be closer to his mother who has ALS. That makes more sense if the Cardinals do that.

Kansas City loves Alex Gordon. St. Louis loves Yadi. It's same type deal with Longiria down in the Tampa area I'm sure. Doesn't mean you would want to go deal for either of those two.

Rosenthal reporting that the Cardinals after Stanton deal was declined by Stanton, wanted to trade for Ozuna not Yelich. Didn't say why.

Cards were looking for a 4/5 hitter. Yelich profiles more as a conventional 2/3. And obviously the prospect cost was probably relevant as well. |

Doesn't mean that the Cardinals should feel compelled to oblige him at the expense of their organization. The problem now is that he's buried and the guys they should be moving (Carpenter and Fowler) aren't guys they're willing to move. So he can't do anything to rehabilitate his value in STL. So Mozeliak will dump him just to get his salary off the books, even though it's pretty much a pittance for the next 2-3 years. |

Ozuna is buddies with Carlos Martinez and was friends with Taveres.
