Aaron would not have survived or developed in that system and OL. IDK if alex sitting like Aaron would have saved his arm from getting shattered or made him so gun shy.. but would have helped.

It is a fine line but if you look at the last 6 years of his career now there is a pattern of success. I get a little riled up when a fan of a loser franchise like SD calls Smith "less than mediocre". **** them and their cry baby bitch QB. |

They gave up 30 points 6X in 2012 alone. Alex has to have a top 10 defense to succeed. |

2013: Chargers 10, Chiefs 3 2014: Chargers 14, Chiefs 10 2015: Chargers 18, Chiefs 11 2016 (in progress): Chargers 23(!), Chiefs 12 McCoy and Pagano have been here all four years. Whiz has been here for two of them - in the other two, the offense was mismanaged by fellow idiot Frank Reich. The injury bug and inept coaching have been consistent issues for the Chargers (and, thus, Rivers) for the past four years. They aren't the only factors, of course. Until last year, Telesco's drafting was extremely inconsistent. He's also yet to make a big-money signing or re-signing that has worked out, other than extending Rivers. Plus, the Chiefs have been the hands-down better team the last two years (which still doesn't make Alex the better QB). But that doesn't mean injuries and coaching haven't been factors. Rivers has been handed chickenshit to work with by our bumbling excuse for a franchise lately, and he has done everything he can to turn it into chicken salad. In the last two years, the team around him has degenerated to the point where even an elite QB playing out of his mind can only drag them to 4 or 5 wins. It's easy to blame Rivers. But as a fan who watches every game, it's really a systemic failure to build a winner around one of the elite QBs in this league. I wouldn't be saying it if it wasn't true. Regardless, Alex Smith isn't viewed as a below-average QB because of how he matches up against one of the most poorly-run organizations in sports. He's viewed as below average because, despite having a stacked offense around him, he's put up fewer touchdowns than guys like Brock Osweiler, Colin Kaepernick, and Trevor Siemian. He's thrown for fewer yards per game than Sam Bradford or Blake Bortles. And he's led his stacked offense to a decidedly average 23.5 points per game (15th in the league). That's not the type of production you'd hope to get from a QB with weapons like Kelce, Hill, and Maclin in the passing game. |

People bitching about Alex Smith, especially in 2016, are ****ing drooling morons. Alex Smith is a Franchise QB. Period. End of story. He's led SIX straight teams to winning records, making the playoffs 5 out of those 6 season. He led the Chiefs to their first playoff win since the 1993 season and did everything possible in a 44-45 loss in Indy back in 2013.
What Alex Smith isnt? A Hall of Fame QB. Not even close at this point. Anyone that's bitching about Smith doesn't want a Franchise QB, they want a Hall of Fame QB. A Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Ben Rothlisberger type of QB. It's ****ing reeruned that these same people don't understand the difference. |

Yet, Bortles is looking to be benched/replaced, Kaepernick is looking to be replaced/benched/Siemian is about to be benched/ Osweiler same. So, football is obviously more than just a "stat" game. All of which you said is just bullshit. There's a lot of things that go in to moving the ball in the NFL. |
