Saw them many times in the 80's. Then a few times later with Cinderella.

Very, very, VERY unique band from the original LA set. RATT and Motley were the undisputed kings of the early 80's rock scene and everything that came after was a pale imitation.
RATT wrote some of the most unique rock songs I've ever heard. Many of their songs follow a fairly traditional arrangement, but they also include these parts that kind of come from left field which add a completely different dimension to the standard verse-chorus arrangement.
A LOT of talent in that band.

Amen dude... where Motley were the sleezy blues kings, Ratt were actually more metal IMHO

There wasnt a whole lotta that bluesy grind with them, their stuff (thanks to DeMartini) has a much more metal flavor in many ways... I hear something more like an American, party time lets **** Judas Priest than I do straight up bluesy raunch like most Crue - Shout at the Devil being the exception -

I have a signed copy of Reach for the Sky. They were signing at the Rolling Stone record store outside Chicago back in 1990.

Wow! I actually have a Robin Crosby pick from the Invasion of Your Privacy tour! These bands are getting older and are sounding like crap! Here are a few:

Journey
Motley Crue
Ratt
Styx
REO
KISS
and the likes

A band that has stood the test of time is Stryper! See below:

I got to see Stryper back in the day in St Louis... Oz Fox is no joke, the guy can totally shred

A good pal of mine is still a big fan, he has seen them at least 5 times and gotten to meet them a few times... and they live up to their reputation, always extremely gracious to fans, never too good to talk

The bass player Timothy Gains walked up to us and just handed out a handful of picks and said "enjoy the show" That was the most incredible interaction between band and fans I have ever witnessed!
