Jacobs will get another contract and play for a few more years barring injury/early retirement.

CEH may not play in the NFL past this season, even as a backup/RB2, and probably shouldn't.
Yeah, he's way better than CEH, but gets about the same amount of yards when he carries the ball. How is that disingenuous? Does it just look smoother and better when he does it?

Would be a great addition to this offense. Love “Pop,” but JJ is a weapon that could be used along with #10. Seems more like clickbait at this point. Not the best of times to be an elite NFL running back.

Please tell me you're not advocating for this signing.

Well, for starters, Clyde averages 49 yards/gm (has never averaged more than 61 yards/gm), Jacobs averages 79 (averaged 97yds/gm in 2022).

For another, CEH's longest career rush was for about 52 yards, and the average of his longest rushes is under 30 yards. Jacobs averages closer to 50.

CEH averages about less than 6 TDs/season rushing/receiving. Jacobs averages 10.

Finally, Jacobs has had just one injury-shortened season, and still scored 9 TDs rushing, while CEH has never played a full season, never scored more than 4 TDs rushing in a season.

In fact, in 2021, when Jacobs ran for just 872 yards, that's still 69 more yards than CEH ran for in his best season, 803.

And while we're at it, the 4.4yds/att is literally the best performance Clyde has ever had, Jacobs has had two out of his four seasons averaging 4.8-4.9yds/carry, including last season (.4.9).

Yards/att by itself is not a great indicator of a RB's performance.

Oh, and yes, Jacobs does look faster and smoother and better when he runs. The difference is so obvious, I didn’t think anybody needed the reminder, lol.

So a team that didn't want to spend 8 figures on a WR who could've meaningfullly altered their depth chart is going to go acquire a guy not at all dissimilar from the 2 players they have at the top of their current depth chart and who has oftentimes been benched in 3rd down situations because his team doesn't trust him in pass pro.

Y'all are buying this bullshit?

Jacobs doesn't fit here at all.

Even if we did get him it doesn't change anything. Blocking is the reason a running games works or doesn't on most plays. We have a good running backs already.

I have doubt our running backs would be very successful in most other offenses. They have everything going for them here. We pass a ton. We have Patrick Mahomes so defenses are scared to death of us throwing the ball. We have a good line especially the interior line. If we had a real running back they would be much more efficient than CEH or Pacheco.

Pacheco struggles with vision. CEH just sucks. It is difficult for a running back to fail in this offense.

Agree!

I think we are pretty good at RB with Jerick McKinnon ($1,092,500 cap), Isaih Pacheco ($889,777 cap), Deneric Prince ($756,666 cap), Clyde Edwards-Helaire ($3,443,229 cap, $2,085,670 saved if traded), and La'Mical Perine ($940,000) at RB.

The Chiefs have $562,353 of cap space according to overthecap.com. They have $446,267 according to spotrac.com. So right now, we have no money to spend.

Josh Jacobs is tagged for $10,091,000 and wants a better contract. Even if Raiders remove the tag, he is still going to want to be paid.

The Chiefs do not have the need or the money to give Jacobs what he wants.

We need defensive line help but a new Chris Jones contract favoring the Chiefs for 2023 is the first step in trying to make that better.
