The SF Cheaters

I'm Mr. Peabody and you're Sherman ss we enter the Way-Back Machine and go back to Super Bowl LIV...specifically right after that play in which Mahomes has scrambled out to the right, headed to the near pylon of the endzone, where he slides late and gets flattened by #20 Jimmie Ward. Mahomes jumps up, yelling "Good hit!" while Ward remains on the ground. 49ers team personnel come out to check on him, resulting in an official injury timeout. The TV broadcast airs a commercial. When we return, the camera shows 49ers head coach giving instructions to Ward just before Ward appears to run back onto the field. It's 4th and 1, and the Chiefs run their Rose Bowl spin special which, fortunately, gets them the 1st down...and, yes, Ward is definitely on the field during that play.

But, wait just a second. According to NFL rules, an injured player is only allowed to play on the next down in 3 situations: his team calls a timeout, the 2-minute warning or end of half occurs, and the injury is caused by a foul. None of these happened in this case.

So the 49ers cheated and still lost.

It's one thing to hear Whiners fans say that the Chiefs won because the officials didn't call holding, DPI, etc. But that's up to their discretion as to whether a foul occurred, and they stayed true to "non-calling" it for both teams throughout the game. But the 49ers directly violated a hard-and-fast rule, so now you know how to shut up those Whiners...

I'm not on this site very often, so please accept my apology if someone else has previously pointed out this infraction.

We actually still talk about this every single day around here. One of the greatest moments in Chiefs history, where the 49ers cheated and still lost.

(anyone have any idea wtf he is talking about? and who is this guy?)
