The truth about our losses

After a little research and going back to last season, including the Super Bowl we have 5 losses when Mahomes plays (obviously not counting week 17 Chargers game). Almost all of the games we have lost in that time frame have one major thing in common. Here’s the data...

Chiefs/Faders - Clete Blakeman
Chiefs/Bucs - Carl Cheffers
Chiefs/Ravens - Clete Blakeman
Chiefs/Bills - Carl Cheffers
Chiefs/Chargers - Sean Hocculi

We are losing the games reffed by those horrible officials.

Definitely true, but still goes with the numbers. And I’m sure if they needed to step in to get them a win, they would have done so. But we couldn’t get out of our own way so was no need for it.

It sucks that there is that kind of variability in how games are called, but I don't expect it to get any better.
I hope our coaching staff pays attention to these sorts of things and bakes that info into our gameplan/approach.

Hell, the Rams pay a guy specifically to keep McVay from walking too far onto the field. We could definitely use a guy to look into which crews are more prone to calling specific types of penalties and use it to our advantage.

The Carl crew is the worst. I thought they were supposed to send the best crew to the Super Bowl!

Two of the worst "Roughing the Passer" calls you'll ever see were both called against the Chiefs by Clitoris Blakeman and Cheffers' crews.

The AFC Championship Game Chris Jones hand near Brady's head and the bullshit Frank Clark call in the Buffalo game.

You need to stop licking whatever it is you are licking. Coochie doesn't have this effect on brains.

Chiefs vs Bills
Chiefs 4 turnovers Bills 0
Chiefs 7 penalties for 55 yards Bills 10 penalities for 103 yards

Chiefs vs Ravens
Chiefs 2 turnovers Ravens 2
Chiefs 5 penalities for 46 yards Ravens 8 penalties for 55 yards

Chiefs vs Chargers
Chiefs 4 turnovers Chargers 0
Chiefs 6 penalties for 56 yards Chargers 8 penalties for 50 yards

The obvious reason we lost is the turnovers.

This. The only thing beating the Chiefs is the turnovers. We get that under control and we are very tough to beat. This team should be at minimum 5-1 right now. Mahomes has more INTs in six games this year than he had all last year.

With the SB, we stood little chance. Mahomes had turf toe, we started backups on the OLine against an elite Dline, and our receivers forgot how to catch. While there were questionable calls made, eventually those factors would have caught up to us even had the refereeing been better.

I do want to mention that the refs mentioned in the OP are some of the worst refs in the league with a bias against the Chiefs in years past.

While I fully agree with you on turnovers, we’re definitely killing ourselves with them. But it’s easy to look at the amount of penalties and say it wasn’t on that. But it’s about the timing of the penalty, or the no call.

Chargers game they call DPI on the Chiefs during the LA go ahead TD drive (that should have been either OPI, or too high to catch). Then obvious no call DPI on the Hail Mary when both Reek and Kelce were being absolutely mugged in the EZ.

Yes, Clyde fumbling away the Ravens game was the reason we lost, but just so happens that one of 2 refs that have been reffing during 4 of the 5 we’ve lost in the last 2 seasons.

Do you feel the penalties were called fairly in the SB? Even players who were watching said it felt dirty watching what they were doing to the Chiefs. How about the AFCCG against Brady and the Pats? Fairly reffed??

Bills game we did ourselves in. No denying that.

I’m with you in the feeling that if we don’t turn the ball over, it’s difficult to beat us. But the refs have found a way to even the odds when necessary. And not all the refs, but specifically Clete ****ing Blakeman, and Carl ****ing Cheffers.

Like you said and I concurred with those refs have a definite bias against the Chiefs. Refs are like the choreographers of the NFL. They are not meant to determine anything but they are meant to help and keep it as entertaining as possible when not obviously making things as "competitive" as possible.
The biggest point is that without the turnovers the refs would have had little to no effect on the outcome of those games.

Turnovers and the timing of said turnovers. I felt the Clyde fumble that cost us early in the season was on Andy, you don't run Clyde that close to the goal line in that situation. Mahomes has cost us a game, combined with the defense. Yes referees play into it and don't help. Game is rigged at all levels. I've seen refs call phantom shit or keep their flags in their pocket in ymca flag for no reason other than to make the game close, same thing with high school, college, professional. It always comes down to money and making the game competitive when you can. If you lose by three it's so much better than being blown out and both sides are happy. Most refs will even a game out after taking abuse from the coach/team that wasn't prepared. We've all seen enough football to know this is true, all levels.
