I'm going to just shove my collection of thoughts from All 22 footage throughout the season in this thread.

Feel free to add your own, to agree/disagree/shit on my thoughts, to ignore this thread.

First half of the Texans game:

• The defensive playcalls early in the game are delicious. First drive, Spags sends a blitz that I'm seriously going to have to take a picture of and share on CP. He sends five players but DROPS Frank Clark and Chris Jones into coverage, and they actually have to criss-cross each other to get to their assignments. Absolutely wild. (The play was nullified by a false start from the LT.)
• NFL GamePass is absolutely ruining their All 22 footage by putting all the Special Teams plays out of order.
• Toub really is using Hardman as an edge rusher on FG attempts. On the missed FG, Kpassagnon hurdles his dude and DOD breaks through to pressure the kick.
• Prior to his injury, Saunders was getting owned pretty much every snap.
• Okafor outplays Kpassagnon in the first half. Kpass did not have a good first half -- he had his passrush stopped by a TE on a play.
• Danna on his first play perfectly reads a screen pass and works his way out to make a play. He misses the tackle; but it's a good heads up on a rookie's first snap.
• That's also the same snap in which we lose Saunders. Wharton gets his first snap the next down. Danna's playing and so is Sneed on that first down -- a huge presence by the rookies in this game!
• On that play with Wharton/Danna/Sneed on the field, David Johnson had his TD run. The play is run away from Danna, but Wharton was erased by the OG and Sneed took a bad angle. Correctable error by Sneed, and to be honest it was a hard turn to make.
• Anthony Sherman is such a damn hammer. 2nd drive of the game they pull a CEH out of I formation and Sherman stones JJ Watt.
• The difference between CEH and Darrel the Barrel is hysterical. Barrel looks like he's running in the damn mud by comparison.
• The triple screen thing they ran with the fake to the right with Hardman and to the left with CEH and ultimately to Kelce up the gut was an absolute beaut.
• Man, the versatility required to play tackle in Reid's system... Eric Fisher spends almost all his time handling edge rushers but on some run plays may have to erase a nose tackle. That's a lot to ask of any one athlete.
• Mahomes visibly pissed Robinson drops that twisty TD throw of his.
• CEH is straight up Priest Holmes when it comes to setting up the block.
• Wylie gets destroyed by JJ Watt throughout this game, but more than handles everybody else he plays against. Watt had a damn good game and looks healthy -- he was even giving Schwartz fits.
• Wharton is the fastest DT we have. Plays with good strength too -- he's in on the 2 minute drill at the end of the first half, and the Texans run right at him. Wharton shoves Fulton back into the RB and the run is for no gain.

On the DJ run, Sneed just bounces off of DJ's hip as he tries a half hearted hit-him-and-try-to-knock-him-OOB attempt. He could have saved the touchdown if he would have just wrapped up the tackle, but that's a good teaching moment for Spags. Sneed will learn from that.

Ravens game, first Ravens drive.

• On the second play of the game, Ingram is run off tackle to the left, and Ronnie Stanley absolutely erases Frank Clark. He runs him at least 10 yards out of the play, completely off the screen. Stanley is a beast.
• It's hard to tell who was truly at fault on Lamar's long run in the 1st drive. (1.) Frank Clark is contain on that side but gets enough of a nudge from the right guard for Lamar to blast off. (2.) Damien Wilson is the linebacker on that side and bites on the playfake going the other way, leaving him out of position to contain Lamar. (3.) Sorensen is in the area but gets annihilated by Andrews 10-15 yards down the field.
• Chiefs are in base defense the entire first drive until a 3rd and 5, with Kpass as a DT and Danna opposite Clark.
• The option Lamar runs to Niemann's side is hard to dissect -- Danna attacks Lamar who makes an iffy pitch to Dobbins. Niemann is late to get to Dobbins, but he could have been there on time, but elected to delay his run to the sideline, it seems, to back up Danna in case Danna misses Lamar. Danna did his job, Niemann didn't do his, and Dobbins gets the 1st. This is what Spags means when he says the defense has to grow to trust each other so everyone can do their job.
• Ingram had one really good run for a 12 yard burst up the gut. He splits Nnadi and Clark, who is wide. Niemann fills the gap but gets erased by the pulling tight end and Ingram blasts through. Clark bit on misdirection and didn't close the gap in time; Nnadi was doubled. This play was basically the Navy offense.
• Thornhill is in on almost every single tackle of the Ravens first drive. His aggressiveness is off the charts.
• Duvarney gets a quick handoff that he takes to the left side and almost notches a 1st. That's Kpass' side, and Kpass has three different blockers take him on to secure that edge for Duvarney. Sorensen is in position but gets erased by Gus Edwards, the play's lead blocker.
• Thornhill at the line of scrimmage on a 2nd & 3 inside the Chiefs 10. Once the ball is snapped he doesn't even try to rush the pocket, instead he shoots straight upfield, where Lamar has instinctually rolled out. With no blockers on him because he didn't even challenge the pocket, he greets Lamar instantly, who throws the ball away. Off the charts aggression by Thornhill.
• On the 3rd and 3, the Ravens dial up a dumb call where Snead peels out for a quick out from Lamar, which he's supposed to turn upfield and get all 3 yards himself for the 1st. The play depends on another WR getting the rub on Mathieu, but the rub whiffs and Mathieu crushes Snead for no gain. Field goal.

First quarter:

• First snap, Gay is of course on the field and he makes a TFL. And people just do not understand how important Chris Jones is to this team. Chris Jones makes a quick cut inside, which sucks the guard out of the play. As a result, there is a canyon sized hole for Gay to blast into and end the play.
• I'm not exactly breaking any news here, but Turk Wharton is amazingly fast for a DT.
• First offensive snap of the game is a reverse to Hardman for a big gain, and credit needs to go to Demarcus Robinson for wiping the DB out of the play, right to where the play was run, and Kilgore for getting out in a hurry and walling a defensive lineman out so Hardman could keep trucking.
• CEH stuffed on the first run of the game; blame goes to Kilgore for whiffing on the LB who ended up making the play. Too bad, because the play design was great; the play was run to Allegretti's space, which he vacated to fake runblocking to the other side of the line, and the DT ran with Allegretti, leaving a huge hole for CEH.
• AJ Bouye is giving Tyreek 10 yards of cushion. Pat hits Hill and he just trots up for a first down.
• I absolutely love the sneaky screens Andy Reid uses to get Kelce the ball up the gut. This time, he motions CEH to the far side, and fakes a bubble screen to the near side. Kelce "hides" by staying in to block a DE then releases him just as Mahomes hits him. You gotta see the All 22 on this play; Mahomes REALLY squeezes it in there.
• This was the game that you saw some chemistry issues of having brand new personnel across the OL. Early in the game, Remmers just lets a guy by thinking Kelce has him, but the guy plows through and flushes Mahomes out for an incompletion.
• That one-handed catch Hardman makes shows that he's growing. In his first career game last year, Mahomes criticized him for cutting his route off too jaggedly. This time he rounds it out and just keeps racing downfield towards the sideline and Mahomes hits him.
• That CEH touchdown run was unbelievable. Underrated was how well the entire left side of the OL blocked. Allegretti and Kilgore wall off the DL, and Fisher absolutely erases the DE.
• Bashaud Breeland has been straight balling since he returned. Jeudy was erased for most of the first half.
• Oh, no! Demone Harris with his first snaps of the season and he gets railed out of a run play by a tight end. C'mon, man! Lindsay sprints his way for 6 yards.
• CHRIS JONES AT DE, SNAP #1: Lock threw the ball in a couple seconds so it wasn't a good look, but Jones gets stonewalled by the LT.
• I don't know how Drew Lock scored that touchdown. Kpass was right there, watching the handoff, had the perfect angle and still bit on it. He has not played well this season, and if he continues to make mental mistakes like this, it's going to be a situation.
• I honestly don't know why we still have Hardman as one of the FG edge rushers. It's not like he even tries.
• LeVeon's first run is gorgeous, not just from him but from the blocking. MVP of the blocking is Kelce, who plays the Anthony Sherman role: he chips the DE to allow Fisher to control him, then slows up the LB at the second level. Kelce playing the Sherman role has been fascinating, and oddly effective.
• Bell's 2nd run is blown up by bad blocking: Allegretti and Remmers can't get their hands on their men, who end up slowing down and tackling Bell for a loss.
• On 2nd and 9, Mahomes rolls out to his right and eventually hits Hardman for a big first down. He received critical blocks on his rollout from... Kelce and Robinson? The Chiefs kept two of their receivers in to block?? This was a max protect call in order to hit Hardman who seemed to be the only one of two route runners (Hill was the other). This play will deserve a deep dive later on.
• I know he gets sacked a few times in this game, but Mahomes is receiving sterling OL protection throughout much of the 1st quarter.
• Bell's 3rd run is only for a couple yards up the gut. DL slipped between Allegretti and Kilgore.
• Lindsay breaks off a huge run once the Broncos double team Kpass and run right at him. Ugh.
• The Broncos try it again later; this time Frank Clark is on the edge they're running to, and he won't back down, and eventually forces the RT to get called for holding.
• Niemann has been so thoroughly benched for his poor play that they often don't even bring him in for nickel looks.
• Clark-Kpass-Wharton-Jones is a fun NASCAR package. Its particularly fun because Wharton is perfectly capable of tracking down a play from behind -- which he did today.

Second quarter:

• First play of the 2nd quarter is on CEH, who didn't see Mahomes was getting blitzed. RBs in our scheme (and most schemes) are supposed to be looking for the quick out against blitzes. Rookie mistake.
• Wylie is absolutely annihilated by the DT to give up a sack. The DT had such a effortless swim move past him I'm not sure if Wylie even touched him. The Chiefs are giving Allegretti constant help, particularly from Kilgore. That's going to leave a lot of 1v1 for Wylie, and I'm afraid better teams than the Broncos are going to utilize it.
• Phenomenal tackle by Thornhill save a big run opportunity from Gordon. Broncos called a good play, as there was a large pre-snap gap between Pennel and Clark, with Wilson supposed to man the gap. Wilson, however, gets washed out of the play, and Breeland, who was runblitzing, gets washed out with the trash. Huge hole that Gordon hits, but only 6 yards, as Thornhill continues to progress in his return from injury.
• Jeudy gets his first catch of the game on a rub route, where the WR's cross each other and essentially run a pick against Mathieu to open up space, which he converted for a 1st down.
• Demone Harris getting washed out of yet another run play, this one a huge gain, and again being washed out by tight ends. What a disaster of a game he's playing. It doesn't help him that he's supported by Gay, who bites on the inside run so hard there's literally nobody on the outside to reel in Lindsay.
• Another 9 yard run by Lindsey, this time by double teaming Harris again, who has Wilson on the outside to support him. Wilson is washed by the pulling tackle, however, and there's again nobody on the outside to contain Lindsay. They are targeting Harris and wrecking him and his LB support.
• They are just running tight ends at Harris and getting push. Embarrassing, potentially cuttable performance by Demone Harris. This time his linebacker support is Wilson again, who literally spends the entire first second of the play standing in place, allowing an OL to climb and negate him. Chris Jones and Charvarious Ward are still there to shut the play down for a 3-4 yard gain, but not before Melvin Gordon gets the first down.
• Spags' DL lineups allow Chris Jones to just wait for the offense to set up, and he trots over and picks his spot. The other DT waits until he does, then takes the other side of the play. They're honestly just letting him play where ever he wants and however he wants. It works; on the play I'm watching he beats the guard and flushes Lock straight into Kpassagnon for the cleanup sack.
• The Sorensen pick-six is a great play by Dan, but it was caused due to a PERFECTLY dialed up Hitchens blitz, who shows zero hesitation in getting his helmet into Lock's chest. Causes Lock to throw off his back foot instead of stepping into the pass, and Dan gets all the time he needs to jump the route.
• Sorensen with his helmet off looks like he should be coaching Kobra Kai.
• So, Lindsay is a great runner, but our inability to play that dumb cutback he always does is opening up huge holes for him. He's even running them all to the same side, and this time Clark is on the edge, with Wilson supporting him. But Clark bites hard on the inside run for some reason, and gets washed out. A pulling tight end gets Wilson pushed WAY outside and it's a huge hole and Lindsay is off to the races. This play largely ends up getting screwed because Nnadi, playing the 2 gap, is walled off from the play, forcing Clark to pinch inside a little farther than he'd like. Wilson is given far too much ground to fill himself, so he plays wide on purpose to force Lindsay inside. Hitchens can't get there to help either, as an OL climbs to manhandle him.
• Same Lindsay run, to the same side of the line. This time Kpassagnon is the DE, and Wilson again is the LB supporting him. Kpass gets combo blocked into next week, and Wilson again can't slip his block. Lindsay eats up 6 yards before Sorensen knocks him out of the game. It is crazy to me that the Broncos are running the same play with the same runner at every DE we have and we can't seem to crack the case, short of knocking him out of the game. Which, we did. Dirty Dan, indeed.
• Broncos try to run the same play yet again, this time with Gordon, for no gain. Kpassagnon is the DE this time, with Wilson outside of him on the LOS. The Chiefs' plan, this time, was to have both Kpass and Wilson dart inside and have the Broncos blockers follow them, and fill that vacancy with Ward, Hitchens, and Sorensen. It mostly works, as Hitchens blows up the blocker and stalls the play.
• An actual penetration by Kpass blows up a play and forces a FG! The Broncos man him up with a TE, who he comfortable shoulders past to get into Lock's face. The Broncos really tried their luck in this game by putting TEs on our DEs frequently. It worked against our backups but Kpass and Clark are too big and strong and explosive for them.
• That said, both Kpass and Jones applied pressure in that instance, but neither were THAT close to sacking Lock; he just panicked. It's only his 9th career start, and pressure in his face can really fluster the kid.
• Ben Niemann may have had the most critical block on Pringle's kickoff TD. Niemann gets his hands on the dude who seems to be responsible for that middle lane and erases him, blocking him 10 yards out of the play. Pringle explodes through the hole and isn't touched until he gets to the last line of defense.
• Lindsay play again to the outside, this time to the other side of the line, where Frank Clark finally plays it right. He keeps his integrity and forces Lindsay to bounce waaaay outside, until he runs out of bounds for no gain.
• Gordon gets five yards running at Harris, again. Pennel on the inside gets double teamed by the tackles, and Wilson is able to make the tackle as the climbing guard can't negate him. Harris was at least blocked by a tackle this time, though.
• CEH has this great 27 yard run, with great speed, but he has his blockers to thank. Wylie, Remmers, and Kelce all crash down and get tons of push, while Allegretti has an utterly punishing pull out to the DE, erasing him from the face of the earth. Fisher pulls behind him, and wipes out the DB on the outside. There is absolutely nobody left on the field to stop CEH for at least 25 yards.
• There are days that the Kelce-playing-fullback experiment isn't perfect. On a 2nd and 5, Kelce is lined up at RT and then pulls to the left side of the line for CEH to follow. CEH doesn't follow him, for whatever reason, and a DT clowns Kilgore and wraps him up for no gain.
• Another day, another run to our defensive line's left side. This time Kpass is playing DE, and again with Wilson support. Kpass actually holds his own this time, but Wilson is just of no use, failing to get off a block. Again, a wide open hole for a RB, again. Sorensen ends the play by concussing Lindsay.
• Gordon up the gut for a big gain. They run right at the DT combo of Jones and Wharton. Why are the Chiefs playing both of these guys at the same time? Wharton gets absolutely pancaked and Kpass is walled off, opening a huge hole for Gordon. Wilson is again blocked out of the play as he has been all game, and Clark has to retreat all the way back to wrap up Gordon for a 10 yard gain and first down.
• Lock holds the ball too long but Jones' ability to swim past a 300 lbs grown-ass man is just fantastic. Jones sacks him and puts the Broncos behind the 8 ball in their 2 minute drill.
• The Chiefs with an exotic blitz in the two minute drill! The Chiefs creep up two CBs (Fenton and Ward) on the LOS on the outside shoulder of each DE. The Chiefs blitz BOTH CBs and drop BOTH DEs into coverage after faking a rush. Both CBs get a direct line to the QB and Ward notches a sack. Damien Wilson has a pretty good blitz up the gut as well, flattening the RB trying to block him.

Watched a couple of key offensive plays, didn't delve super deep. Wanted to mainly see what happened with the line on those plays that led to free rushers. Denver called some pretty creative blitzes/fake blitzes that completely messed with our line.

On the first one, Denver looked like they were rushing 6, but 45 (who looked pretty good on tape for the Broncos, particularly on run plays) dropped out, and it led to the 2v1 on Fisher. Watching the game I thought Fisher made the proper choice picking the inside guy, but he was blitzing from an ILB spot, meaning the edge rusher actually was the guy closest to getting Mahomes. I think if Fisher blocks up the edge rusher Mahomes is able to dump it off to Bell for a 1st down, because not only did he sack Pat, but he prevented the dump off to Bell. You can see Mahomes wants to make the dump off but the edge player jumps up to prevent it, and Mahomes just takes the sack instead of risking an INT/tip drill.

Second one, Wylie just gets yeeted. Immediately loses off the snap. No shot for Mahomes.

On the third sack, Broncos lined up with 5 guys at the LOS, but dropped Chubb, and Keizer ended up 1 on 1 with an edge rusher, which is obviously an awful matchup. Again, a very well schemed play on Denver's part.

One other play I thought was worth mentioning; the CEH dropped touchdown was an INCREDIBLE play by Mahomes. As the play developed there was NOTHING open. He pulled that throw out of ass, and CEH needs to ****ing catch that ball. Overall, one of Mahomes weaker games, though. I think a lot of that has to do with the flow of the game; the offense did not have much rhythm, in part because there was a span where the Broncos had the ball for like 3 straight drives. Before the pick 6, after the pick six, and then after the Pringle KR TD.

Wylie's tape is mostly ugly. I'd love to get an upgrade on him. Kilgore is pretty impressive, Allgretti did fairly well for a noob but got roasted on a stunt on one play, he's still getting his feet wet so not the end of the world. Bell's vision was apparent, he sees holes with the best of them, still. Hill had a couple disappointing drops.

IMO, the o line was the biggest reason the offense had struggles, from a player perspective. On top of clever scheme by Denver.

The ol is taught to block inside out. The outside guy has a longer path to the qb, so fisher did the right thing there

That one is on Mahomes to get rid of it quicker but bell wasn’t turned it appeared. Just eat it and move on to the next play
