Frank Clark arrested for felony possession of a firearm

Well, bye...

https://www.tmz.com/2021/06/21/frank...ty-chiefs-nfl/

K.C. CHIEFS' FRANK CLARK
ARRESTED
... Cops Say NFL Star Had Uzi In Lambo SUV

Quote:
NFL star pass rusher Frank Clark -- one of the best defensive players in the league -- was arrested Sunday after cops say he had an uzi in his Lambo SUV ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us Clark was pulled over for a routine traffic stop Sunday evening in Los Angeles ... when cops say they noticed an open duffle bag in his ride.

Our sources say officers saw the gun inside the bag ... and arrested the 28-year-old for felony illegal possession of a firearm.

The Kansas City Chiefs superstar is still behind bars in the Los Angeles area, jail records show.

According to the records, Clark -- listed at 6'3", 255 pounds -- was arrested at 9:20 p.m. ... and was booked into jail hours later at 9:28 a.m. Monday.

We've reached out to Clark and the Chiefs for comment ... but so far, no word back yet.

Clark was a key piece in the Chiefs' runs to the Super Bowls the last two years ... after being traded from Seattle to Kansas City before the 2019 season, Clark logged 14 sacks in 26 starts and was great in postseason play too.

In fact, Clark was so good for the Chiefs since joining the team ... he was selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his 2 seasons on the squad.

Of course, this is not Clark's first brush with legal trouble ... you'll recall, he was arrested in 2014 after being accused of domestic violence -- and was kicked off the Univ. of Michigan football team over it all.

Clark eventually struck a deal with prosecutors in that case, agreeing to plead guilty to a lesser charge of misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

Clark is currently in the middle of a 5-year, $104 MILLION contract with the Chiefs.

Story developing ...

From my friend Shaggy Shane whose thinking along the same lines on this situation.

In the spring of 2019 news broke about Tyreek Hill breaking his sons arm and many in Chiefs Kingdom wanted him off the team ASAP!

Today it is reported that Frank Clark was arrested in California for having an Uzi in his car and many in Chiefs Kingdom are back with another knee jerk reaction to release him now.

It is obvious that it is not a good idea to drive around with an Uzi in your car. It is simply against the law!

What we need to understand is why he was in this situation. I for one will not attempt to speak for Frank Clark. I am not a lawyer and I don’t pretend to be one on YouTube. But as a young child between the ages of 5-8 in Los Angeles Frank Clark had to often jump to his living room floor in an instant because his house was being shot up, eventually killing his uncle. So it is safe to say that he may have some emotional scars he is dealing with….

Just like the Tyreek Hill situation of 2019 let’s let the legal process do it’s work before we throw him off of the team because we know that Frank Clark wasn’t driving around Los Angeles shooting anyone.

Actually, whether it's legal or not depends entirely upon were you happen to be when a cop stops you. In AZ, it's perfectly legal.

In CA/NY, it's illegal to spell "U-Z-I."

What is there to speculate? He had a concealed firearm (uzi) in his car. What are we missing that could somehow be construed as a Tyreek Hill sort of saga?

All of this "don't rush to judgement stuff" is unnecessary. Nobody is passing moral judgement on Frank Clark. The concerns that exist surround the legal realities of what could happen. Maybe it's no big deal, but laws surrounding automatic weapons can be tricky. The more we hear from people that actually know, the more it sounds like he'll be okay, which is good. He may not be living up to his contract but he's still a worthwhile player to have on our defense this year.

Even if he was just returning from a youth outreach event where he took the uzi off some young kid so the kid could live a better life that's cool but it won't get you out of the charge most likely

If it was concealed how did the cop spot it in his open bag? People transport completely legal semi-automatics in gun cases and bags all the time. He could be going to or from the range or hunting sight.

If Frank was coming across the border with that uzi while bringing a gaggle of unaccompanied kids- he would not have been stopped at all.
