2019 Free agency Thread

We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.

If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.

I know everyone is thinking about defensive free agents and rightfully so, I want us to get a safety and another DL, but i'd be interested in seeing where we can upgrade the OL. I think with a solid draft, new coaching staff, and a FA signing the D can get to at least middle of the league. All of our losses we scored more than 30.

Assuming we let Morse walk, i'd check in to see what Matt Paradis is worth. I'm also not aware of a lot of other FA OL.

We know that really the only way to have a chance against Mahomes, is to confuse the interior line. I think we should look at upgrading one or two of those spots.

We're no longer competing against the entire NFL.
Everything we do this offseason should keep "Does this help us beat the Patriots" in mind.

Because of the price of free agent CBs, KC is almost forced to draft for their CB needs. Maybe even after drafting CBs, a player like Brandon Carr, (Ravens $7 Million cap) Joe Haden (Steelers $11.9 Million cap) or Dre Kirkpatrick (Bengals $11 Million cap) will be released that KC could pick up.

While the market price for CBs has been high, KC could go to free agency for Safety, RB, and TE, where prices have not been so high.

I wonder if Spags and Veach basically told him good luck in FA. Spags is supposed to be talking to all of his defensive players around this time.

I wonder if he was one of the bad attitudes when the Chiefs cited a change in attitude that was needed in the secondary (Peters being part of that of course)

So...would you Burfict?

ESPN's Katherine Terrell believes "it makes sense" for the Bengals to move on from LB Vontaze Burfict this offseason.

Burfict hasn't played a full 16-game season since 2013, whether that's due to a lengthy injury and concussion history or suspensions, and will turn 29 this year. Once a force on the field, Burfict has become more of a liability. And with familiar faces like Marvin Lewis, Paul Guenther, and Jim Haslett gone, it makes sense for the new, young staff led by Zac Taylor to cut the cord.

That's my biggest problem with Nelson. He crapped on the fans on social media, he celebrated after giving up first downs, he just never really had his head in the game.
