Because that "lockdown", along with all others in the U.S. so far, are half assed. Half assed solutions lead to quarter assed results. The only way to really stop this is full lockdown (like Wuhan did), but we would never do that...so here we are. |

Lockdowns are a short term cure. They’re about delaying the thing until you have vaccines or therapeutics
They aren’t long term stop this thing solutions. |

Yeah that would do it, look at New Zealand. Still having pop up stuff. It’s a highly infectious respiratory virus. It’s not being defeatist to realize that it’s gonna spread and there’s minimum things we can do |

Exactly. And we had to lock downs earlier to flatten the curve. A lot of people including some on here think that means get rid of the virus and it doesn't. It means spreading out the same amount of infection over a longer period of time so hospitals don't get slammed. Hopefully you run into a vaccine or treatment while doing so but that was gravy and never the intention.

the USA government could do more. The states, cities could do more. It’s not going to be a fix but it could lessen the suffering and deaths.

wasn't a lockdown, it was a "we suggest you stay in but we really aren't ready to enforce anything"-down |

It's much like speed limits. Nobody on the interstate drives at the speed limit because the chances of getting caught are so miniscule. We don't have the ability to enforce large scale mandates. It's up to the American people to comply willingly. |

What would you all do in this following scenario?
At work we are required to notify our employer if we intend to or do actually leave the country and intend on spending a night or if we are attending a mass gatherings. If you knew a few people were going to be leaving the county to spend several days with their families in other states and do not intend on divulging their intentions for fear that they would be quarantined or isolated for up to 14 days upon their return? |

That depends. Is the 14 day quarantine paid? Can you work from home? |
