4.2 vortec tune up

03 GMC Envoy straight/inline 6 with 220k runs very well but doing a tune up because it hasn’t had one since I had it the last 7 years or so plus I want to see if I can improve MPG performance. Fuel filter I did about 6 months ago. This year doesn’t have a MAF sensor so I will just clean the throttle body. No PCV valve either but 2 hoses instead. Got them for a good price from rock auto. Have heard plugs and other parts have counterfeit problems online especially eBay and Amazon so I got the AC Delco iridiums from Oreillys. The coil packs are the only thing I have not bought yet for the tune up. Anyone have any experience with 1A Auto?

I almost just bought these but I did a search and it seems their customer service sucks and they have BBB complaints so these say lifetime warranty I’m assuming they’re cheap parts and one of those you get what you pay for situations but still thought I would check with the CP grease monkeys.

Couldn’t find AC Delco coil packs (except eBay and I’m not going that route)so I figure the Delphi are the OEM. The one I can see with the cover still on is a Delphi.

That’s probably the way I will go but what are the thoughts on NGK? Yay or no?

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...tion+coil,7060

I’ve never used the NGK coils just the plugs in my lawnmower and weed eater

Also, rock auto. With warranty and customer service, all that stuff what’s is the opinions there? Good or bad? My getting the hoses recently is the first time I’ve done business with them. Anyone heard of counterfeit parts issues with them? Looks like both Delphi and NGK are 36k miles/3 year warranty so that’s plenty for this vehicle

No codes showing up or anything just a good time for coil replacement when doing the plugs. And yes my tranny is doing well thanks in advance for asking

I wouldn't bother replacing coil packs unless they had a problem or if it is considered regular maintenance for your vehicle.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Might just do the plugs and wait but with that particular engine being touchy I want to be prepared to order them. Could save $ and just do one if/when they go out.

No experience with NGK coils but I have always had good luck with their plugs in the Jeep 4.0.
