Took the wife to see The Boy this weekend. It is more of a thriller/suspense than a horror movie. It was ok, not as good as I was hoping, but few seldom are. But there was a good preview for a movie called The Witch. Looks promising, and unlike most recent horror films.

On the concept alone, I'm as geeked for this as any movie of any genre in quite a while. But I'm tempering expectations in the resignation that like so much else, it'll turn out to be half-assed weirdness. Has the potential to be up there with The Exorcist as an all time classic, but will it pay off. |

Last two horror movies I've seen have been terrible. The Boy and The Forest weren't scary at all. Studios wanting all their movies to be PG13 has really ruined the horror movie genre.

Just watched "Uncanny" on Netflix. I think I might like it better than Ex Machina.

reading S Kings newest short story collection now.....Bazaar of Bad Dreams....
pretty good. at the beginning of each story he has an intro. in one intro he mentions I Bury The Living (1958) as his fav movie but wishes they would have pursued the implied ending.....well...to the end. so I was curious and googled it and you can watch the whole movie on youtube. it's like 70 minutes long. I watched. I understand his comment now. I pretty much do NOT like super old movies. they are just so...boring. but this one had premise that not only sounded just like an SK story...but it was intriguing. you just had to see what's gonna happen. |

I watched "The Fan" with Robert DeNiro and Wesley Snipes for the first time since sneaking into theaters to see it back in middle school. lol DeNiro scares me in that movie, I guarantee real baseball players beefed up on their security after this came out.
