I think there's a 50% or better that his trilogy is dumped.
First off, he doesn't have a story, doesn't know the time period, doesn't have a setting and doesn't have any characters. It's quite possible that once he turns in a general outline, it's tossed.
Hell, it might get tossed if he turns in a shitty logline.
