They had a decent payroll for a few years.
They could accelerate this “rebuild” by mixing in a few legit vets. Even one solid hitter and one reliable starting pitcher would have done wonders. It’s not asking much to not be near the bottom in payroll.
Tired of waiting years and years for young talent to pan out that almost never does. They don’t have enough in the farm system to build a legit contender anyway.
