I'm not from Chicago, but I did live there for ten years. In neighborhoods they don't mention in the tourist brochures.
I got in three bar fights, was mugged once, and also beat the crap out of my wife's ex-boyfriend. Late 20s/early 30s for all of them. Sometimes you've just gotta do what you've gotta do.
