Another one that gets us is shingles.
One of my friends from high school came down with this when he was in his mid-40s (normally it's an after-50 thing, but he was very unlucky). For those who don't know, shingles a virus related to chickenpox that causes a horrible, painful rash that takes days/weeks to go away. If you had chickenpox as a child (which pretty much all of us did) this shit is lurking in your system, and it can manifest itself at any time.
After he described the hell he was going through dealing with it, I got the vaccine for it the next day. Simply put, **** THAT.
