Other than everything I said being factual, nobody was predicting they wouldn’t make the playoffs. This year is different though.
They will compete for three wild card spots with the Chargers, all three non AFC North winners, Titans (maybe), Jets, and Dolphins. 7 teams for three spots. The Bills are broken so it won’t be them. They still can’t move on from previous playoff losses. Probably why for three straight years their playoff performances have declined. Can’t handle the pressure. It’s going to culminate in a final collapse this season.
That said, I would rather they make the playoffs and take the next step, which for them and their trajectory is a wild card exit, to increase the likelihood of McDermott sticking around. I don’t want them firing him anytime soon.
