Gremlins came out in '84, long after the debut of Yoda in ESB in '80.

Outside of being little, with big eyes and big pointy ears, I don't see it. But I agree, if Dante is lame enough to whine about this, then I guess Lucas could whine right back at him. Although Lucas probably has better things to do, like dive into his swimming pool full of cash.
